T
he central theme at Maharishi European Research University
(MERU) is research into the field of consciousness. The University
was founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who has completely restored
the thousands of years-old, scattered Vedic Literature into a complete
science; bringing to light its full potential. Through this revival of
Vedic Science with its various disciplines such as AyurVeda (science
of health), Sthapatya Veda (Vedic architecture), Gandharva Veda
(Indian classical music), Jyotish (Vedic astrology) etc., Maharishi has
made a unique and practical contribution to the holistic improvement
of all areas of society.
M
aharishi Mahesh Yogi is widely regarded as the foremost expert in the study and development of
consciousness. He rediscovered and made available the technique of Transcendental Meditation and
its advanced programs. The Transcendental Meditation technique is a simple, natural, effortless process
practiced 15–20 minutes twice daily while sitting comfortably with eyes closed. Through the practice of
these techniques, millions of people have experienced improvements in health, vitality, creativity and
happiness. Maharishi also placed great attention on the introduction and use of Vedic technologies for
peace and prosperity in the world.
MERU Vlodrop is near the villages of Vlodrop-Station
and Vlodrop in Limburg, the Netherlands, adjacent to the
Dutch-German border and surrounded by the Meinweg
National Park.

MERU Sint Odilienberg
M
ERU has extended the activities to Sint Odilienberg, a scenic town about 20 minutes drive from
MERU Vlodrop. The building is hosting residence rooms for MERU guests, faculty and personnel
as well as classrooms for various MERU courses. It also houses a Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre
with Panchakarma treatment facilities.

he rooms are apartment-style, each having a
private bathroom, a kitchenette and a separate
wardrobe area. Rooms are spacious with big windows,
good sunlight and air ventilation; they are well
furnished and suitable for short and longer stays.
Each room has broadband internet.
The building has quiet, scenic surroundings, a beautiful
lake and a wonderful forest for daily walks.

dvanced Techniques of Transcendental Meditation enhance and enrich the benefits of one’s
daily practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique. Through the regular practice of
Transcendental Meditation, the mind becomes familiar with the experience of ‘pure consciousness’ –
the simplest, least excited state of consciousness.
T
hrough the Advanced Techniques, we enhance our ability to experience finer levels of thought
– to develop finer perception while becoming more and more familiar with the experience
of our own silent Self. As our conscious mind thereby becomes more infused with this pure field of
consciousness and our perception becomes more enriched, our thoughts and actions spontaneously
become more powerful and effective, resulting in greater fulfilment of desires in daily life. Meditators can
apply for the first Advanced Technique after two to four months of regular practice of Transcendental
Meditation and then continue with the sequence of Advanced Techniques after every additional two to
four months.

The Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme
including Yogic Flying
Culturing the ability to think and act from the level of pure consciousness
T
he practice of Transcendental Meditation allows the mind to settle down effortlessly and naturally
to experience pure consciousness — the Self — the silent inner reservoir of creativity and intelligence
that underlies all our mental activity. The Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme cultures the
ability to think and act from that profound inner silence so that all our thoughts and actions are maximally
powerful and effective.

he practice of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme optimizes specific channels of
mind-body coordination from this deepest level of consciousness. The most powerful aspect of
this programme is Yogic Flying. During the practice of Yogic Flying, brainwave synchrony is maximized
as the body spontaneously springs forward in short hops. Internally, the experience is accompanied by
feelings of exhilaration, expanded awareness, lightness, and ‘bubbling bliss’.
The Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme is now being offered to all European Meditators
who have been practising four Advanced Techniques for at least two to four months.

rammy award winner Vikku Vinayakram presents his deep and intricate percussion compositions.
Vikku is recipient of the Padma Bhushan award, the prestigious national honour conferred by the
President of India, and the Sangeet Natak Acadami award, the highest honour for music in India.
V
ikku’s mastery over percussions is legendary. He will be playing ghatam, an ancient percussion
instrument of South India. He will be joined by his son V. Selvaganesh and his grandson
S. Swaminathan, both international celebrities themselves, known for their imaginative and beautiful
drumming skills. Also accompanying them will be N. Rajaraman and A. Ganesan. The artists will be
performing on various unique drumming instruments of India.

under the guidance of Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam during and after Guru Purnima in Vlodrop, Holland
from 18 July - 25 July.
We would like to encourage you to invite enthusiastic and dedicated young Meditators, Sidhas, and
Governors from your country to take part in this unique course, which features the first International Yogic
Flying competition in decades.

he focus of the course is to engage young leaders and offer them the opportunity to connect with
Maharaja and other great leaders of Maharishi’s Global Country of World Peace. Course participants
will also have the joy of meeting other like-minded individuals who want to contribute maximum to the
creation of peace in the world through Maharishi’s programmes.

Participants from 18 countries came for the 2015 two-week in-residence course.

Successes of the 2015 participants:
Nepal: As a result of this course taken in previous years, the Transcendental Meditation programme
has expanded to several thousand students in a military, a government, and a private school, leading to
the course taught in Nepal itself to 50 principals and teachers.
From Raja Kingsley and Dr Leslie Brooks:
“The CBE course taught in Nepal in November 2015 transformed the thinking of every school teacher
and administrator who took the course. The knowledge and exercises were so practical and enriching that
the participants quickly made the connection between their current level of personal experience and the
advantages and benefits for students.
“This gave them confidence to organize to implement fully the TM and TM Sidhi programme in their
schools. After the course the participants had a more positive outlook on their own lives and on the future
of Nepal.”
Japan: A leader of Maharishi Institute of Total Education reported,
“We started to teach in one of the biggest ‘cram’ schools in west Japan, with 15,000 students. We taught TM
to the president, board of directors, and now the teachers, in preparation for teaching the students. “In the wonderful course I understood the real importance of a CBE project for our country, that this is the
solution and key for the coherence of our nation to be raised.”
Mali: The National Director of the Transcendental Meditation organization has implemented the
Transcendental Meditation programme in a school of more than 400 students:
“As a result of the step-by-step application learned in the CBE course, permission forms flow from the
parents, personal instructions and checking are going on every day by two full-time Governors, teachers
are leading group meditation in their classrooms very seriously, and the school director is even more ‘fired
up’ than myself, informing the Prime Minister [Dr Bevan Morris] that the students will be starting the TMSidhi programme, with the required number to bring invincibility to Mali.”
Argentina: The General Director and Administrator of an international school in Argentina
introduced the Transcendental Meditation programme in their school:
“The CBE course provided us the knowledge, as well as the strength and support that we needed. The
course was also fundamental for providing the tools needed for the successful presentation of the project to
teachers, parents and students.”
Kenya: The National Director of the Transcendental Meditation programme reported that they “have
started implementing the TM programme in three more schools in Kenya and one school across the border
in Tanzania.”
◆◆ In addition, many presentations were given: On national television by the National Director of the
Transcendental Meditation organization in Armenia; and to educators in Algeria, Ukraine, Israel, and
other countries.

Each video or live lecture is followed by the participants integrating the knowledge—summarizing it,
expressing it, presenting it to others, and writing about it in workshops. This routine is balanced with restful
and enlivening twice-daily extended group practice of the TM and TM-Sidhi programme.
The course is held in-residence, with late morning, afternoon, and evening meetings in the beautiful meeting
hall of St. Odiliënberg. Meals are served in the same building.

Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi programme from throughout Europe, it is a pleasure
to announce that this year’s course will take place from 20th to 27th August in MERU, Vlodrop, with
use of Maharishi’s Peace Palace for meetings, and accommodation nearby in the comfortable MERU
facility in Sint Odilienberg. (Please note that this course was first announced for the Maharishi Island
of World Peace, Ireland, but due to planning restrictions it cannot be offered there this year, and we

he Governor Refresher Course is an aspect of Maharishi’s Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training Course
for the Age of Enlightenment. This course is open to applicants from Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australia,
and New Zealand.
The Governor Refresher Course was designed by Maharishi to prepare all Teachers of Transcendental Meditation
to bring enlightenment and invincibility to their nation. Teachers will be brought up to date in Maharishi’s most
recent guidelines regarding knowledge, teaching skills, materials, and policies, and will hear some of the most
recent advanced lectures of Maharishi bringing to light more details of the structure of Total Knowledge as well as
the scientific perspective of Total Knowledge.

he Governor Refresher Course is particularly relevant
for Teachers who have not been teaching regularly,
but it was Maharishi’s wish that all active Governors who
took the Transcendental Meditation Teacher Training
Course prior to 2005 should take Block One, which
includes many recent lectures by Maharishi on the
principles of teaching and the role of the Certified
Governor. Many of the lectures were recorded during
the first Governor Refresher Course held simultaneously in several locations around the world in AprilMay 2005.

t is said in the Veda that mantras, gems and herbs are the three primary means to support the
development of higher states of consciousness and perfect health. In this course, our delightful focus
is on gems, and how they profoundly support our health and spiritual evolution through the application of
Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems.
There are three fundamental aspects to this course:
◆◆ Subjective Experience: Enjoying the benefit of personal treatments in MLG
◆◆ Theoretical Knowledge: The origin and nature of gemstones, and how MLG works
◆◆ Practical Knowledge and Training: Giving treatments to clients, organising and promoting MLG in the field
Goal of the course:
After successful completion of this course, participants will become Practicioners of Maharishi Light Therapy
with Gems (at Phase 1 level) qualified to give treatments to healthy people and to those with minor imbalances.
They will also receive the necessary knowledge to give introductory talks on MLG.
Who may attend:
Governors are welcome to apply after approval by their National Office with the International Course Office,
as well as by their Raja and/or Raj Rajeshwari.
They must have a working agreement with a Movement institution, and the necessary equipment should be
already available or should be ordered before the start of the course. Treatments will be offered in a Maharishi

AHARISHI AyurVeda Panchakarma treatments rejuvenate and purify your body of toxins and impurities

traditional procedures as prescribed by AyurVedic experts.

PA treatments do not require change of your routine or
special diet. You can receive SPA treatments while you are on
a course at MERU. They will deepen your course-experience and
enliven deeper silence in the physiology. A variety of other special
treatments are offered as well: Maharishi Aroma Therapy, Maharishi
Vedic Vibration Technology, Vedic Sounds, and Maharishi Light

Panchakarma
Panchakarma treatments need a special routine and diet. They require you to
stay at our centre for several days to receive all the treatments and to gain
the required rest. Our Vaidya (Traditional AyurVedic Doctor) prescribes the
treatment-sequence according to his diagnosis at your arrival. Panchakarma
is normally taken for at least two to three weeks in residence, we have also
designed special packages for three, five, and seven days.
Initial consultation with the Vaidya to determine your personal Panchakarma
prescription will be priced at 140,- €. Follow up consultations during your stay
are included in the treatment prices.
