KEX Explosion Proof
General Description
The KEXH series of QUIFER actuators go a step further in the world of acting valve 90 of rotation. These Electro-hydraulic
actuators for non hazard-ous areas provide a compact and without risk of oil leaks thanks to its innovative design solution in a closed enclosure where we disregard hydraulic tube connections.
This type of electro-hydraulic actuators consist of a closed hydraulic circuit commanded by a motor and a hydraulic
pump through electrical compo-nents guiding the circuit as appropriate and when the power fails, the actuator goes to
the fail posi-tion preserved safety line.
The KEXH version single acting actuator 90 and rotation failure to secure position, with On / Off and modular applications
is defined and delivered with accordance to valve connection ISO 5211. The Explosion Proof KEXH series contains all
the elements to be placed in area classified as Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 and thanks to the many combinations that can be
made.It is the customer who will decide the number of elements that provide security to your adding more or less circuit
protection ele-ments as needed.
KEXH range of QUIFER Actuators is quite wide as using rack and pinion actuators of QUIFER, and making the appropriate
changes to work with hy-draulic oil we have a wide range between (90Nm) and (1817Nm) minimum pair of springs. They
can cover a large range of valves and for larger torques we have the KSYEXH series.
The control box of this series of actuators can work as standard at 24VDC or 115VAC on request. En-gine power and line
power range is very wide and you can use multiple combinations between 24VDC and 380VAC and single or three phase
motors as needed. KEXH components can be manufactured in ac-cordance with NEMA standards and thus selected for
the US market for all purposes.

Technical Data
Working Pressure: From 1 to 8 bar for double acting actuators. From 3 to 8 bar for single acting actuators.
Air supply: Air or non corrosive gas.
Working temperatures: From –20ºC to 100ºC.
Lubrication: all actuators are supplied lubricated for their normal working life.
Rotation: Anticlockwise in opening. To reverse actuator rotation, inert pistons
Rotation movement of 0º +2,5º and 0º -2,5º rotation of 90º +2,5º and 90º -2,5º
Linking surfaces according to ISO 5211 and VDI/VDE 3845
Air connections according to VDI/VDE 3845
Drive Shaft whit square ISO 5211
Multiple combination springs allow a wide range of torques for one model.
All springs have a preloader, increasing safety.
All models are easily convertible from spring return to double acting or vice versa.
Inner cylinder has been completely honey treated.
Shaft and pistons are completely mechanized.
Shaft has an anti ejection retaining ring.
Double sealing at the top and bottom of the shaft.
All components have high resistance to corrosion (All models have a double opening and closing regulation
from the outside.
