Important Prerequisite
Your TouchTunes Conversion Kit has been designed and provided as an economical solution for
converting your previous jukebox into a full-fledged TouchTunes digital jukebox by integrating with many of
your currently installed components. As such, the successful installation of your conversion kit requires that
your current hardware be in good working condition.
Before proceeding with installation of this kit, it is imperative that you verify that all currently installed
electronic components are fully functional. You must also inspect the cabinet or enclosure to ensure that it has
not sustained damage that would inhibit or prevent the installation of any equipment provided with the kit—
either internally installed functional components, or externally applied aesthetic enhancements.
Note: Installing a TouchTunes Conversion Kit does not fix a broken jukebox!
Estimated Time to Complete the Installation
The degree of complexity and time to complete the conversion may vary slightly from model to model,
and may depend upon the installer’s experience and comfort level with working with electronic equipment and
power tools. TouchTunes’ installation team has determined that a typical installation can usually be completed
in 2 1/2 hours.
Workflow
The procedures described here, based on the experience of TouchTunes’ expert installation personnel,
represent a logical sequence of events and best practices for accomplishing your conversion within the least
time and with minimal difficulty. In general, the basic procedures are:
1. Removal of old components:
Removal creates space for the installation of the new equipment and allows for a clean, compact, and
clutter-free installation with easy access to all components. This section also describes the necessary
components to leave in the jukebox.
2. Installation of new components:
This procedure involves installation of all TouchTunes components in the jukebox enclosure, conversion
of the current amplifier, and modification of the door (as required).
3. Testing and activation of the converted jukebox:
This procedure allows you to verify the success of your installation.
NOTE: These procedures are described in detail in the following subsections.

Cleaning
It is very important to clean your jukebox. Proper airflow is crucial to the maintenance of your TouchTunes
Digital jukebox. Cleaning the inside of the cabinet, especially with alcohol, is important for proper adhesion of
certain hardware; as well as easy location and identification of new and old wires. Take time now to organize
and dress all remaining wires, using the cabinet’s existing wire loops. The kit will be easiest to clean before
installing any TouchTunes components. However, certain steps will allow you to reach different areas of the
cabinet and door, so be sure to clean as you go.
Assembly
ID Box and Antenna Assembly
Before attaching any components to your jukebox, test fit them to ensure that the appropriate connections can
then be made and other jukebox components (new and old) will allow proper clearance. When installing a JCB
squid cable, it is essential that you pre-fit the harness.
•
•

Converting the Main Enclosure
•
•
•
•
To reach the proper TouchTunes components, the speaker crossover must be moved from its original
location to a higher one.. (See Blue Arrow in Figure 1.3 on next page)
Using the provided amplifier mount as a template, mark the hole needed to make room for the
t DA415
Digital Amplifier.
• Butt the corner of the mount to the corner of the existing hole to make use of a common corner.
• Trace the
he inside edge to provide a guide to cut by.
• Using a jigsaw cut thee area you traced
