Building Process
Permitting Process
Gehan Homes will submit plans to the
city for approval

Mechanical Installation
Electrical wires and plumbing pipes are
run through the interior walls, ceilings and
floors. Ductwork is installed for the heating,
ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system.

Your Construction Manager will go over
the details of the homebuilding process
and answer all of your questions.

Your lot will be prepared for the foundation of your home and the slab will be
poured.

Framing
Cornice, and Roof
The shell of your home will be built.
Sheathing and a protective barrier is
installed, which prevents water from
infiltrating the structure
The interior finishes and paint colors
you have selected will be applied.

The exterior of your home will
be built and you will start to see
your beautiful drive-up appeal.

Pre-Sheetrock
Meeting

City inspectors may evaluate your
property periodically. At these times,
it may seem like little progress is
being made, but rest assured they are
validating that your home meets or
exceeds code requirements. At each
stage, they will give their approval
so that the next stage of the building
process can continue.

Your home will be sealed and insulated,
which plays a key role in energy efficiency.
Your house will look like a
home once the flooring is
finished.
Final Paint
and Clean
Your home is prepared for
final inspection.

The finishing touches are put on the

You will meet with your Construction
Manager to go over all options in the home
and answer any questions, before sheetrock
is installed.
