Flooding can sometimes cause sewage from sanitary sewer lines to back up into houses through drain pipes. These backups not only cause
damage that is difficult and costly to repair, but they also create health hazards and a devastating experience for the homeowner. Backwater
valves prevent the flow of sewage into houses through drain pipes. The award winning Mainline Fullport Valve provides automatic sewer
backup protection, protecting the home and adding peace of mind for the owner.
FOR THE BUILDER
During construction, sewer backups are common and are generally caused by mud
entering the sanitary sewer system. This mud causes blockages and creates backflow
through the laterals and back to the basement. This can result in a very messy clean up!
The Mainline Fullport Valve provides a remedy for this situation. By simply inserting a wedge in
the valve's internals, the gate will remain closed during construction and keeps mud out of the system.
The optional wedge can be easily inserted through the clean out of the valve and just as easily removed
after construction is completed.

IT’S IN THE CODE
Recent changes to the Ontario Building Code recognise the value of this new plumbing innovation. Mainline Backflow Products successfully changed the
National Plumbing Code of Canada through its development of the Mainline Backwater Valve, and its innovative "normally open" backwater valve design.
The code now allows main building-drain protection for all new houses across Canada without any other backflow requirement.
