Kamloops: At the heart of it all
Getting here is easy. By road, rail or air, Kamloops is
a convenient destination. Four major highways converge in our
city, providing easy access from all parts of BC, Alberta and
Washington. The Kamloops Airport connects us to places
farther afield with direct flights to and from the international
gateways of Vancouver and Calgary. Two passenger railways
also make regular connections in Kamloops. And once you’ve
arrived, you’ll find that everything is conveniently close. It’s easy
to get around Kamloops by car, but we’re also a great city to
explore on foot or by bike.
Daniela from Brazil
Well-served by major highways, railways and airlines, Kamloops is easy

Welcome
Backyard.
Look to sunny Kamloops for an unforgettable holiday experience. Located in the heart
of British Columbia’s Thompson region, Kamloops boasts a dramatic landscape, four
distinct seasons, urban amenities and unparalleled opportunities for outdoor fun.
Kamloops style.
Sunshine and Blue Skies. With over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually, each
of our four seasons is perfect for outdoor adventure. Spring starts early, our
summer is warm and dry, and the sunny days extend well into autumn. Winter
brings deep powder under clear blue skies, making the Kamloops region an
ultimate winter playground.
Breathtaking Scenery. Our diverse landscape includes sagebrush-covered
hills, wide-open grasslands, rugged mountains, forested valleys and unspoiled
lakes. As a semi-arid ecosystem, our natural environment provides a wide
variety of habitats for many unique plants and animals.
Hot Summer Fun. Whether you’re seeking adrenaline-charged excitement
or more relaxed outings, you’ll find innumerable opportunities to pursue
your passions. Nowhere else will you find world-class mountain biking
and hiking trails, whitewater rafting, 100+ lakes for fishing and boating
and so much more, right at your doorstep.
A Park for Every Personality. In Kamloops you can enjoy parks for
dogs, skateboarders, beach lovers, hikers and mountain bikers – a park
for every activity and every personality. From Kenna Cartwright’s wild
beauty to Riverside Park’s beaches and lush green spaces, Kamloops
parks are outdoor playgrounds that are good for body and soul.
Tournament Capital. Excellent facilities and amenities with a focus on
excellence make Kamloops Canada’s Tournament Capital. From elite
events such as the Western Canada Summer Games to local peewee
hockey tournaments, Kamloops is an outstanding host if you love to
play hard and have fun.
Western Hospitality. Although we have everything you’d want in an
urban centre, we haven’t forgotten our historic roots. We’re known
for our unhurried lifestyle and our warm and welcoming people. In
Kamloops, you’ll feel right at home.
You will
love it here!
