"When I'm Gone" by Mrs. Lynn Hancock
When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last
weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and
remember only the smile. Forget unkind words I have spoken. Remember some good I have done. Forget that I ever
had heartache and remember I've had loads of fun.
Forget that I've stumbled and blundered and sometimes fell
by the way. Remember I have fought some hard battles and
won, ere the close of the day. Then forget to grieve for my
going. I would not have you sad for a day. But in summer just
gather some flowers and remember the place where I lay.
And come in the shade of evening, when the sun paints the sky in the west; stand
for a few moments beside me and remember only my best.
All gave some...Some gave all. Remember them this MEMORIAL DAY 2016

5 WAYS TO USE YOUR TAX REFUND
Income taxes are due. Some people will owe, some people will break even or owe very little,
and some people will walk away with a refund. In 2015, the average refund was $2,800,
which is no small amount! If you’re hoping or expecting to receive a similar refund this year,
here are some thoughts about how you might use that windfall cash.

Put it toward credit cards or other high-interest debt. It might seem boring, but moving yourself away from
debt is pretty practical, particularly given that the interest rates on credit cards or other loans can be taking away
from you more than you might think.

Invest. Try a IRA (1.00% APY) or start a credit union checking account (0.30% APY)—let your money earn you
some money.

Deal with home maintenance. If you’ve been putting off repairs or neglecting to update appliances because
they’re too expensive, this is a great chance to take care of the necessities. Ensuring that your home is shipshape
now might mean that you’ll ward off more expensive repairs in the future.

Donate. If you’ve got a favorite charity or cause, you could take the opportunity to support it with a monetary
donation. You’ll help the organization with its mission and might have a chance to write off the donation on next
year’s tax returns (check with a certified tax advisor to be certain).

Take a fun vacation. If your financial ducks are in a row and you feel like you
can splurge on yourself a little, take that vacation you’ve been longing for. The
relaxation and time away from the regular grind can help reduce daily stresses and
make the rest of the year more bearable.
Remember, too, that you could try a mix of the above suggestions. No matter what,
just be sure you don’t have remorse over your choice!
