Livis celebrate 20 years
Staff, clients and suppliers celebrated 20 years of
Livis at the historical Cutty Sark in Greenwich
back in April. The evening was filled with fun, food,
refreshments, live music, entertainment and
culminated in a dazzling disco.
The evenings charity raffle raised £2,000 in aid of
MAGIC - Medway Autism Group and Information
Centre.
East Route Replacement Programme
As part of the Docklands Light Railway Limited East Route Slab Replacement, Livis
were awarded the Poplar and East India Stations.
East India Station
We have replaced the platform
slabs on platforms 1 and 2 during
a planned closure in June.
Essential logistical requirements
involved the utilisation of a Road
Rail Vehicle—RRV to deliver the
slabs, plant and materials from our
compound located at Canning
Town curve.
The project was completed ahead of schedule with an
excellent quality finish.
Poplar Station
The project involved the slab replacement works to 4
platforms during a planned closure. The slabs required
intricate and precise cutting for each element prior to
installation. The platform slabs, plant and materials were
delivered by crane from DLR Poplar Depot directly onto
the platform locations.
New Projects
Livis have been awarded the
following contracts:
Putney Bridge Platform Extension
Works have started on this project which
includes a short extension to an existing
high level platform in conjunction with the
removal of nosing stones and tactiles,
which are to be replaced.
Marks Tey Platform Works
The project comprised of the
replacement of platform copers with
new coping stones units. We are also
renewing the platform tarmac. There is
also demolishing works between
platforms 2 and 3.
Waterloo Station Relay Room
Our second contract at Waterloo Sidings
consists of the demolition of a two storey
building, site clearance and foundation
works.
Bond Street Station
This civils and premises scheme
consists of the constructing a new locker
room and modifications to the existing
station operations room.
Network Rail Star Award
Our construction service teams at Maidenhead, Slough,
Hayes and Kensal Green along with our client Balfour Beatty
have been awarded the much coveted Network Rail Star
Award, rewarding excellence in Health, Safety and
Environment.
Fundraising for BLESMA
Billericay
Livis have completed the refurbishment
of the platforms 1 and 2 at Billericay
station.
The works consisted of platform coper
replacement, repairs to platform riser
wall, new linear drainage, installation
of stick on tactiles, new soakaway for
drainage on both platforms and
resurfacing the majority of both
platforms and adjusting the falls in the
block paving to ensure compliancy.
These works were carried out on 5
number 52 hour possessions. We have
additionally constructed a retaining wall.
A Polybridge was utilised during the
possessions to enable the transportation
of plant, materials and tarmac in
wheelbarrows from our storage area in
the car park adjacent to platform 2 over
to platform 1.
On Saturday 14th May Livis Directors and staff
took part in a Nuclear Race over a 6km
ultra-gritty, muddy, obstacle-loaded course on
Essex farmland to raise money for BLESMA
(British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s
Associations). Blesma have been supporting
limbless veterans for almost a century.
The event tested every ability and fitness of our
team on this fast-paced, punishing course. Livis
raised a total of £700 for this worthy charity.
On Monday 6th June, Craig Beale and Laura
Davidson also volunteered to collect money for
Blesma at Liverpool Street station.
