Summer Fun
Camp Peppermint Fence
(Formerly Barefoot in the Grass)
Ten classes beginning May 28, 2013
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m.–Noon
$305 for 5 weeks
Camp Peppermint Fence is our very popular summer preschool
for children who are 2- to 5-years old (on or before September 1,
2012) and have not yet attended kindergarten. Children will be
grouped in classes by age. At Camp Peppermint Fence children:
•Explore the outdoors
• Create artistic masterpieces
• Conduct science experiments
• Play with new friends
• Read stories
• Sing and move to music
Financial assistance may be available for qualifying families of
4- to 5-year-olds. Call Renée Lach at 763-745-5293 for details.
Spanish ‘Round the World
May 20–24, 9:30–11:30 a.m. ($140 for 5 days)
For children 42+ months as of May 21, 2013, but not yet in
kindergarten
Señora McCartney’s preschool Spanish series is the perfect way to
kick off your child’s summer adventures. Every day in class we’ll
“travel” to a different Spanish-speaking country to discover its foods,
culture, dance, crafts, animals, and most of all, language. We’ll sing
songs in Spanish, dance, play games, and make crafts—building
children’s Spanish vocabulary along the way. Each day there will be
a special snack, including some ethnic treats made during class.
Summer BLOCK Time
Do you need options for your 16-month to 5-year-old child?
Summer BLOCK Time will be offered Monday–Friday, 9:15–
11:45 a.m. and Monday–Thursday, noon–2:30 p.m. Dates are
May 28–June 28, 2013. Cost is $100 for mornings or afternoons.
Wonderful Wednesdays
9 a.m.–Noon, May 29–June 26, 2013
($165 for 5 Wednesdays)
For children 42+ months as of May 28, 2013, but not yet in
kindergarten.
Princesses Rock!
A real princess is capable, creative, and playful. So what do little
princesses love to do? They dress up, design their jewelry and
crowns, dance, create and dramatize princess stories, and practice
good manners at tea parties. Of course, they also love to run, climb,
jump rope, pedal bikes, and play games. Be a princess. It’s a blast!
Pirate Ships and Spaceships
Children will travel from the age of pirates to the space age. For
three weeks they will play and learn on board the “pirate ship”—
enjoying pirate stories, games, toys, snacks, music, art projects,
and more. During the fourth and fifth weeks, they’ll travel
through outer space on an imaginary spaceship, learn about
rockets and space suits, and build spaceships.
Monstermania
Monsters are cute and cuddly. But what do they do at summer
camp? They read and write silly stories about themselves, eat
monster snacks, create works of monster art, play Monster Tag,
and even sing monster anthems. Since they’re frequently mistaken
for little kids, your child will fit right in at Monster Camp.
Summer Cancellation Fees:
By May 1, 2013: $50 cancellation fee
After May 1, 2013: NO refund

Can’t make it to class during the day? Both Mom and Dad
want to attend? Baby Night Owls is your solution! Enjoy
the same Baby Step experiences at night: special time with
your baby, meeting parents and their newborns, and the
information and support you’re looking for! Siblings Plus is
available for your older children, through kindergarten age.

Tuesdays, 6:15-7:30 p.m.
Two six-week series are offered in the fall—first for 0–6 month
olds, then 0–8 month olds. (See page 4 for more details.)
Additional six-week series will be offered January–May 2014.
Check our website or call 763-745-5290 for updates.

Thursdays, 6:00-7:30 p.m
With so many parents in the daytime work force, Toddler
Night Owls fills quickly. Time with their toddlers is short and
precious, so parents and staff decide together if or when they
will separate for parent-only time. Parent/child play and parent
learning and sharing are guided by a licensed parent educator
and early childhood teacher. Toddler Night Owls can make it
until 7:30 p.m. one night a week, and they love class as much
as their parents. It’s the best of both worlds!
Kids on the Go: Take Me to ECFE (24+ Months)
E502
Tuesdays, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Bring your 2- to 5-year-old to “night school” for the same fun
and learning as our Kids on the Go day classes. After special
parent/child activities, projects, and fun together at circle time,
you’ll leave your child with his/her new friends and awesome
teachers as he/she learns through play activities. Meanwhile,
parent group discussion will cover whatever information and
guidance you need now, such as stress management, routines,
siblings, behavior, and social/emotional growth. Couples,
individuals, and single parents are all welcome!
* Second payment due Nov. 11, 2013; third payment due Feb. 10, 2014
