LIGHTSALIVE
Lights Alive is a manufacturer and value-added reseller of lighting and special effects products. We offer
holiday and band/dj/club lighting and special effects products. Our signature product is the FireFly® family of
lightning simulators. The ProLight-200 high-power LED light is the only light designed and built especially for
lightning simulation. Our line of miniFLICKERs simulate candles, fire, or electrical faults, We also build our
16-channel MonsterEyes, an ‘eyes-in-the-dark effect with personality, and Paparazzi and Paparazzi Pro,
32 and 128-channel disorienting LED curtain strobe emulators.
Other products include a range of active and passive infrared sensors and an ultrasonic sensor unaffected by
fog and haze. We also design and build the MANTIS line of prop controllers. Our Chameleon light controller
can turn any music into a light show without programming. Chameleon is scalable, and can light anywhere
from a small band or DJ to an entire mall or stadium simply by adding additional power management units,
Chameleon is great for queue lines or scenes.
Lights Alive was established in 2006 as a reseller of Halloween and Christmas lighting and props, but soon
expanded to become a leading manufacturer of specialty lighting and prop controllers and lights. Lights Alive
products are used nationwide by major haunted attractions, theme parks, haunted houses, corn mazes and
home haunts.

miniFLICKER
miniFLICKER is designed to generate the effect of flickering flames. Three
versions are available, each with its own program to
closely simulate candle flames, loose electrical connections, or roaring fires. All models have two
channels, rated at up to 150 watts per channel.
They also include an “effects” control to adjust
the speed and depth of a specific effect.

MonsterEyes
MonsterEyes is a light controller with personality. It gives the
effect of up to sixteen pairs of
eyes in the dark, or in a prop,
or wherever you want to place
them. Green or blue (your
preference) eyes calmly blink at
random. But when ‘startled’ (external trigger input can be an IR sensor, floor mat, hand or foot
switch, etc.,) all eyes suddenly snap to an angry bright red. Then,
they gradually blink and fade until all lights are out, then gradually come back individually in the original color and behavior.
Place eyeballs in the rafters to simulate bats. Or hide them under
furniture like rats, or locate them in bushes.
Removable wiring harnesses (four wire pairs per harness) are
available. Lights Alive dual color LED ‘eye boards’ are available,
or discrete LED’s can be incorporated into a prop run by MonsterEyes. LED boards are connected
via plug, so boards can be disconnected from the harness to pass wires
through a hole and eyes used on the
other side.
MonsterEyes is available as packages with
eight or 16 sets of eyeballs, and as individual
components. The ‘startle’ effect can be triggered with Lights Alive sensors, or with a
variety of hand and foot triggers or pressure
mats, as long as they provide a switch closure.
Paparazzi & Paparazzi Pro
Paparazzi is a 32 channel mini curtain strobe lighting controller that uses 5mm ultra bright LEDs to simulate the flashes of
Paparazzi around your favorite celebrity. The effect is that of 32
electronic flashes firing at random. And you can place this unit
in hallways or small rooms to completely disorient your guests.
Paparazzi is great anywhere you wish to attract attention. This
adds a superb twinkling (quite bright) to your Christmas tree
too.
Paparazzi Pro offers the same strobe curtain effect, but in a
larger 128-channel version.
In addition to the disorienting
effect in a dark room or haunt,
it works great as an attentiongetter in retail displays.

MANTIS Controllers

miniMANTIS
The Mantis family takes controllers to a whole new level with list
of features far too extensive to list here.
The microMANTIS is a digital event timer that uses rotary (analog) controls to quickly set an otherwise all digital device. Those
controls consist of a PRE DELAY to adjust the amount of time between when a trigger is received and when the action takes place.
The EVENT TIME control determines how long an event (prop
jumping, light lighting, fogger fogging, etc) takes place. And the
POST DELAY determines the amount of time before the device
can be triggered again.
The miniMANTIS is a single channel programmable prop/event
controller using the “key-banger” approach to record and play
back the user’s actions.
microMANTIS
The miniMANTIS-2 is trainable in the same manner as the
mini, but offers two channels with up to 32-amp control, and
high-quality onboard audio. With it’s audio level indicators, the
miniMANTIS-2 gives you great audio on the first try.
Unique to the Mantis family of products is our Lights Alive
Direct Connect. Connection between any Mantis controller and
any Mantis sensor or trigger is as simple as plugging in cable. In
addition to the modular LADC connection, screw terminals are
provided to accommodate third-party triggers.
The microMANTIS, miniMANTIS, and miniMANTIS-2 are
available in a quality housing, with no exposed circuit boards.
In addition, the micro and mini are available as a built and tested
board without case for OEM use in props.
MANTIS Sensors
In addition to our line of active infrared beam-bounce and
beam-break sensors, we’re raising the bar for passive infrared
motion sensors Our microprocessor-controlled sensors use
quad-zone sensors instead of the usual two zones found in most
PIRs, to improve sensitivity and reduce false triggers. The sensors
operate on 9 to 15 volts DC, and have a built-in relay to trigger
your controller or other device. There are four varieties to match
to your individual situation: the Standard-range PIR for up to
16 feet; the Narrow PIR, with the same range but only 38 degrees
horizontal view, the Long-range PIR for up to 32 feet, and the
Slight-motion PIR with a shorter range but higher sensitivity.

confirmed connection
with our controllers.
The ranging ultrasonic and active infrared sensors can be
adjusted for a minimum and maximum operating range. The
ultrasonic sensor is unaffected by any haze, fog, or ambient light
in your haunt since it operates by sonar
rather than infrared light. The ranging
active infrared operates between 40 inches
and 18 feet, while the ultrasonic operates
between 8 inches and 20 feet.

f your FireFly 501 LEDs and lights blink randomly when
you’re in Stereo Mode 2, it’s not stuck in test mode. Instead,
turn your Threshold control down.
I
f one channel of lights won’t work, first be sure you’re using stereo audio cables, both on the
input and the output.

MonsterEyes Packages
MonsterEyes is an incredibly easy to use, yet quite sophisticated
controller for creating the illusion of eyes in the dark. Each of
MonsterEyes sixteen channels operate at random and totally
independent of the other channels so there are never detectable
repeat patterns.
In operation, each pair of
eyeballs pops on at random,
blinks a couple times, then
fades to dark. Typically about
75% of the eyeballs will be
on at any one time. This feature adds some animation to
your display rather than just
blinking some lights.

MonsterEyes packages are available as a sixteen-channel package
with the MonsterEyes controller, four wiring harnesses, sixteen
eyeball boards, and our MS-301X infrared bounce sensor, or as an

later to a full sixteen-channel MonsterEyes system by adding additional eyeball boards and wiring harnesses.
As always, systems can be custom-configured. Different sensors
or triggers can be substituted, and some users may prefer to wire
their own LED’s in place of the eyeball boards using our wiring
harnesses.
“Startle” the monster (by an external trigger) and all eyeballs instantly pop on and turn a blood red. Once the trigger has cleared,
the eyes slowly begin to fade to darkness. Only after all red eyes

ProLight-FX
The ProLight-FX follows the successful introduction of the ProLight-200 LED flood with an all-new effects lighting unit unlike anything else available on the market.
More than a strobe, the ProLight-FX offers capabilities that a xenon strobe can’t match.

Candles and Lanterns
Our imitation beeswax candles have several big advantages over the real thing,
while still maintaining the appearance of a natural candle. No open flames
add safety, and not having a candle that burns down brings consistency. Having candle covers, bulbs, and fittings available as separate items
means you can customize the look to just what you visualize for
your haunt.
Covers are available in a variety of diameters, lengths, and
colors. Colors include white, natural, and black. Sizes are 2” to
10” in one-inch diameter, but vary by color. Extra-thick varieties are also available. Three-inch diameter ‘melting’
candles come in four and six-inch lengths.

Chameleon
Chameleon is a highly intelligent (microprocessor-based) lighting controller that creates a professional light show without the need
for expensive pre-programmed shows or time-consuming custom programming. Simply connect Chameleon to your audio source
and to your lights, then start your favorite music playing and you have an instant synchronized light show.
Unlike sequenced systems, Chameleon interprets the pitch (frequency) and the volume (amplitude) of the music, then translates that
information into
light on-the-fly. Specifically, a low pitched tone will trigger one channel while a
high
frequency triggers another channel. A mid-frequency triggers yet another
light, etc. The intensity of the light is proportional to the volume of
the sound. In other words, quiet sounds yield
small amounts of light whereas loud sounds create
bright light. Chameleon yields a far more accurate
and realistic interpretation than is possible with
sequenced systems programmed via your computer.
You can also change your choice of music at any time,
without the tedious need to program a new show to match the music. If you
already
have a sequenced show, Chameleon can be incorporated into your existing show.
A complete Chameleon system will consist of a Chameleon Control Unit, or CCU, and one or more Power Management Units, or
PMU’s. Multiple Chameleon PMU’s can be added to a single CCU, to give virtually unlimited light capacity in a single system.
Chameleon is also available as an all-in-one unit, with the control and power management units together in a weather-proof metal
enclosure.
Strobes & Black Lights
Strobes and black lights are available in a variety of sizes and
styles to fit your needs.
The SL-1311 is a low-voltage high-intensity LED
strobe. It has four 1-watt LEDs , operates on 10-30
VDC, and is weather-resistant. It has 19 built-in flash
patterns, and up to 15 units can be synchronized
to flash together or alternately. Available in amber
(shown,) red, white, or blue.
The DynoFlash is a 70-watt-second conventional
Xenon strobe, and is a very good all-purpose strobe.
Flash rate is adjustable from

act as a standalone director and
it can be used to simultaneously
control a LOR Network and/or a
DMX Universe.
The mDC-MP3 (mini Director
with MP3 Player) is designed to
control a network of Light-ORama (LOR) light controllers
while simultaneously playing MP3
music files. This is our smallest direc-
tor unit. It does not have an internal clock for scheduling shows
so an external timer is required. It can be triggered by external
switches and/or motion detectors.
The LOR1602W is a 16 channel weather resistant light controller
that can operate independently, operate as the director unit in a
multi-controller network or as an
add-on unit of a larger synchronized
network of controllers. Each of the 16
independent channels has a number of
special effects such as dimming,

The LOR1602W is built

The CTB16D Deluxe Controlled Triac Board - 16 Channels is a 16
channel light controller that
can operate independently,

a multi-controller network or

synchronized network of
controllers. The CTB16D was
designed to be an excellent
choice for standalone applications. Each of the 16 independent channels has a number of
special effects such as dimming, ramping, twinkle and shimmer.
Showtime Software Suite S3 is the latest version of the software
that lets you to program routines for your controllers, and either
run them from your PC or download the show/sequence to an SD
card for the miniDirector. Several levels
are
available, depending on the number of
controllers you need to run.
