Antoine Cassese, the founder of Cassese, invented the world’s first v-shaped
wedge in 1976. Pioneering the concept of underpinners ,now used everywhere
as essential framing technology, Cassese have remained market leaders thanks
to their core design of their patented v-shaped wedge. Cassese manufacture
their wedges and underpinners from the factory located outside Paris, France.
Cassese® Wedge Joining Technology
Cartridge® Wedges vs. Glued Wedges?
1. Easy loading - Cassese cartridge wedges are fast and convenient to change between
different sizes on the fly, with no tools required.
2. Glue-free - Because Cassese cartridge loaded wedges do not require a glue coating, there
is no build up of glue to accumulate in the firing mechanism, preserving the longevity of
the machine.
3. Lubricating - Cassese Cartridge wedges are all lubricated to prevent rusting, and also
helps to lubricate your machine’s internal firing mechanism as they are used.
Features of Genuine Cassese® Cartridge Wedges
1. Shape memory - Genuine Cassese cartridge wedges are made from a high grade steel
alloy, which provides a shape memory property to the wedge. Due to their unique
engineered design, when the Cassese wedge inserts into the timber, it spreads its wings
and the permanent steel memory creates a natural tension that strongly pulls the two
pieces together creating the perfect corner.
2. Power StripTM - All Cassese cartridge wedges are manufactured with a patented
horizontal corrugation in the middle, that improves the tear resistance of the steel to
allow them to easily join harder framing timbers.
3. Colour coded - Each size and type of wedge has a different colour, to make it easy and
quick identification when changing.
4. No waste - Unlike glued wedges, cartridge loaded wedges allow you to use every single
wedge - down to the last one - eliminating wastage and saving money.
