Javier’s was invited to take of the central location on the
casino floor inside the recently completed Aria Hotel and
Casino within the impressive City Center development from
MGM International. This 7000 SF space is a feast for the
eyes at every turn with its signature main bar rope
centerpiece, the world’s largest custom Chainsaw sculpture
and an array of textural madness.

Ocean. Full reposition of all of the existing
rooms to communicate a more updated,
beach side aesthetic in tune with the local
Laguna Beach community and artistic

CONCEPTS
3000 SF Restaurant / Bar in the Arcadia
neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona. The space
consists of a light balance of white and warmth that
would be found beachside on the shores of Long
Island or Cape Cod. A strong nautical theme clearly
influences the atmosphere. Authentic ship lighting
and found objects are throughout the design
lending a very timeless experience.

CONCEPTS
This cozy 2000 SF corner bar in the entertainment
district of Old Town Scottsdale caters to the
neighborhood and locals that are looking for a tuck
away spot out of the madness. Simple material
palette of Black and White wood finishes with
Walnut and Brass highlights, create a subtle, yet
unique and sophisticated ambience.

3000 SF private home and personal residence. This
split story, Californian modern style home epitomizes
the idea of indoor/outdoor living. Originally built in
1956 and originally influenced by Architectural greats
as Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Neutra,
PETERMAX re-envisioned this unique home into the
organically modern gem it is today.

5000 SF Spa facility within a private residence in Cabo San
Lucas, Mexico. The design included an integrated Jacuzzi,
Vichy Shower, Steam Room and Sauna, Full gym, massage
quarters and a 20 person in-home Theater.

Large scale patio addition at the Javier’s Irvine Spectrum
location which created an additional 50 dining seats and created
a soft ‘circus tent’ like atrium with Javier’s signature tropical
vegetation, fire features and punched Moroccan lighting.

ARIA HOTEL & CASINO
The Pool Club at the Aria Hotel was a large scale day and nightlcub
music venue and was a collaboration between the Light Group and
DMD. The concept included a large garden atrium that transformed
at sundown into a large stage / screen for elaborate light / projector
shows. Video art was a main theme in the development of the
concept

DEVELOPMENT
Redevelopment of the historic 72 Acre, Mountain Shadows Resort and Residences at the based of
Camelback Mountain. The development contain a luxury 180 Room Resort and 44 private
residential units. The design objective was to create a dynamic property that blended into its
beautiful natural surroundings, while celebrating the large parcel of open land.

DEVELOPED
Eight unit infill development project located in the entertainment district of Old Town
Scottsdale. Worked on the development team more than on the design team
although influenced the design from the ownership perspective. This was a low
budget multi-family project that was stretched through the design to create a high
end residential experience.

Peter Max Bowden is the principal of PETERMAX which focuses on industry shifting
hospitality design, branding and concept development. With a diverse background in
Architecture/Design, Construction, Real Estate Development and Marketing, Peter’s
approach lends a sophistication and edge to the experience after grand opening. As the

DESIGN
(www.doddmitchell.com) from 2009-2014, Peter has a strong history with industry giants
such as MGM International, Starwood Capital, The ARIA Hotel, The Light Group and the
Viceroy Hotels. With project diversity from Hotel, Restaurant/Bar, Nightlife to Residential and
Multi-Family development, Peter brings vast knowledge and instinct to the table which can
clearly be seen in the final product. Peter prefers to take a concept from inception to delivery,
touching everything along the way including Interiors, Exteriors, Branding, Marketing and
down to the Uniform design and the full Guest Experience.
