Sara Díz Martín
Sara Díaz Martín was born in Madrid in 1975.
A forest engineer by profession, s
he has lived in the Aran Valley since 2014.
Passionate about mountain life and trail-running,
she has been climbing the world’s mountains for many years.
Sara E. Campos
Sara was born in Barcelona in 1982.
She has lived in the Aran Valley since 2005,
and has been in charge of customer service and snowmobile
excursions at Montgarri Outdoor since 2012.
German Leite Soto
German was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1981.
He is our longest-serving musher and has driven
his dog sled around Beret since 2012.
He divides his summers between Europe and Uruguay
Jordi Mas
Jordi is the youngest of our mushers, having been born in Vic in 1986.
He is a big nature fan and in summer can been seen leading
his flock of sheep across the Aran Valley mountains.
Kim Calbeto
Kim was born in Vielha, in the Aran Valley, in 1975.
He has worked at the Amics de Montgarri mountain
lodge since 1995. He splits his time between the lodge,
Montgarri Outdoor, teaching cross-country skiing, and
working the Pass’Aran trekking route.
He founded Montgarri Outdoor in 2003, along with Clori Alves.
Maria and Stephanie
Maria Quintero was born in Vielha, in the Aran Valley,
while Stephanie Soop hails from Stockholm, Sweden.
They have been organising the Montgarri Outdoor calendar since 2012.
They also manage the Carros de Foc, Pass’Aran and Cavalls del Vent
trekking routes from the mountain lodge in summer.
Marec Bican
Marec was born in Komárno, Slovakia, in 1975.
He has lived in the Aran Valley since 2005 and is
responsible for teaching and training our dogs throughout the year.
In addition to his work as a musher, Marec is also the coach
of the Aran Valley’s ice-hockey team.
For Marec, a year without snow is not a good year.
Josu Gamboa Petrirena
Josu was born in Sunbilla, Navarre, in 1980.
He has practiced outdoor activities from a very young age,
and joined our team of mushers in January 2015.
Clori Alves
Clori is of Portuguese descent, born in Amsterdam, in 1973.
He moved to the Aran Valley in 1996 to become a musher..
Since then he has spent his winters in Beret and Montgarri,
either aboard a snowmobile or dog sled.
In summer he works as a guide on photo safaris in East
Africa. He founded Montgarri Outdoor in 2003 along
with Kim Calbeto
