Railton’s Topiary is a part of Tasmania’s
Outdoor Art Gallery, & in this unique town
with a history steeped in industrial and
farming heritage you will find
over 150 living sculptures in 50 locations
Stay a while in Railton, walk the topiary trail,
& find the “Living Tasmanian Tiger” topiary
and other fantastic living topiary sculptures,
all in various stages of development, some
forming a whole scene

Club in March 2005. “Constable G” is located at the
Railton Police Station.

32. A horse and farmer working an old plough –Railton’s
original Character topiary - a living monument to the
pioneering farmers of the district, (Oct. 1999)- Looking
Glass Cottage
33. “Cradle Mountain National Paddock” private garden at
Looking Glass Cottage (Aug 2003) a farming scene of
Railton including the word RAILTON & a miniature scene
of the famous Cradle Mountain national park includes fly
fisherman & trout, eagle, wombats, wallabies, spiders, and
of course, Cradle Mountain. Also Tasmania’s only
“living” Tasmanian Tiger (Sept 04)
Cats (2007) , Koala’s (2007) located (next to Cradle
Mountain National Paddock), also a hedge with sea life
being shaped along the fenceline!
Look for the Tasmanian Devil, planted by Graham Ross
when filming Better Homes and Gardens (May 2012) and
“hacker the dog” planted during the filming of the BBC
show “All Over the Place Oct 2013)
