had to be made first. On the road trip
we took home 2 points not 1. A
motion was made by Michelle

with all the corrections. All were in
favor and the motion was passed.
Wendy Koster gave the Treasurer’s
report. A motion was made by Debby
Charnichko and seconded by
RoseAnn Foy to accept the report. All
were in favor and the motion was
passed.
RoseAnn reported that our speaker
for the evening would be Nick Hart,
the new media relations manager for
the WBS Penguins. She asked Brian
about getting Scott Wilson as the
speaker for next month, as he was
chosen as Player of the month for
October.
Kathy is really excited about the
way our season has started out this
year. We are 9-1!!! The team is now
playing great hockey. However, she
said it will be heartbreaking to see
Zach Sill on Friday in a Hershey
uniform.
Some of the committees could still
use some help. If you are interested
in helping with the Volunteer
Committee during games, see Geri at
the East Gate. She needs volunteers
to go down on the ice during the Tire
Tosses. You can get a free ticket to
an upcoming game. She is also in
need of help handing out books and
giveaways. We have some members
that didn’t return this year due to
health reasons .
The Meet the Players Mixer went
well. The food at Genetti’s was great.
Reid McNeil went back for thirds!!
This is a great way for members to
get pictures and autographs without
waiting in long lines at the Arena or
Season Ticket Holder events. The
new players received a duffle bag
embroidered with their name and
number, a sweatshirt blanket, and a
contour pillow. Returning players
received a bag plus a recharging
pack
Since donations were down from
previous years donors, next year we
will do things a little differently. We
talked about doing some fundraisers
to help purchase some of the items
for the players bags.
New merchandise is available to
order on the form that is available in
the Newsletter, at the table at the BC
meetings, or at any home game.
Money must accompany the order.
We are checking with the
embroiderer about the colors and the
logo for the road warrior items.

SPEAKER: Nick Hart
Our speaker for the evening was Nick Hart,
the Media Relations Manager and Color
Commentator for the Wilkes-Barre Scranton
Penguins. Nick comes to us from the Ohio
University Bobcats, a club hockey team. He
spent 4 years at Ohio University majoring in
journalism. Nick has known Paul Defazio
since he was 6-7 years old. He used to work
with him in Pittsburgh. He did play hockey
but admits he was not very good at it.
Anne Flasser
Cookie Tin Chairman
Nick is only 22 years of age!! He has only
been here for 2 months, has his own
apartment, and just got his furniture
delivered! His job is to compile news
clippings and print them out for Coach
Sullivan to read or toss. Nick gathers the
reporters and will grab a player for them to
speak too after practice or a game. He writes
for the Breakaway and the website. He will
type up a recap of the game played that day.
Nick stated that he comes for the Pittsburgh
area and moved to Athens, OH for school. He
saw playoff games between WB and
Hartford where he saw us lose. He has no
pets and no girlfriend. He has 2 younger
sisters. He likes to watch Netflix, Breaking
Bad and the Office. There is a children’s
cartoon called “Adventure Time” that is an
all time favorite of his. His favorite hobby is
Hockey and the music of AC/DC.
Nick asked for questions from the members
and got quite a few. They ranged from the
new goal song (who picked it out?), to any
pranking on the team. He feels the team has
a lot of depth, skill and can be great if they
stay together.
Pictured above is Nicole Havrilla the
winner of the Eric Hartzell jersey that was
chanced off in October. Remember to stop
by the BC table behind section 101 to pick
up your tickets for a chance to win a game
issued Penguins Jersey.
We want to thank Nick for coming and giving
the members an inside view of what his job
entails. We want to wish him the best in his
new position.

Welcome Committee Thank You
On Monday, November 9, 2015 the Booster Club
hosted the annual Welcome Mixer at Genetti’s
Best Western in Wilkes-Barre, PA. We did things
a little different this year regarding the gift bags
presented to the players, coaches and staff
members. Those returning players and staff
members did not receive the usual contour pillow
and sweatshirt blanket in their bags. After all,
how many blankets and pillows could one need.
This year we got them charger packs for on the
road. The new players, coaches and staff
members received the usual contour pillow,
sweatshirt blanket and bag.
Attention all Booster Club members! In this
months edition of the Newsletter you will
find a Renewal Form for information. Since
it has been a few years since the member
database has been updated. Please take
some time to fill out one of the forms to
update your information as to name,
address, birthdate, etc. Once you have
completed the form or forms you may
return it to the Membership Director at any
monthly meeting or at any home game at
the BC table in Section 101. You can also
mail the form too. Thank you for your
