A Message From the President:
As we reflect on these couple of past months, we continue to be blessed,
to have this opportunity to reach you in this manner.
Please continue to give your input, or suggestions, on the coming events,
it helps us make changes for the better and also unites our mission.
These months have passed so fast, we are in the middle of summer,
soon we’ll be into August. Just a reminder, Our Annual Dance falls
on August 30th and The Blessing August 31st this year. And as usual
Everyone is making preparations for the Labor Day weekend and Trip To
La Bendicion, To Decatur, In. Just a reminder make your reservation at
Motels early, as you know these places get booked-up early.
At this years Blessing we hope to bring you up on our future plans
and goals for the church hopefully I get to spend more one on one
communication to answer your questions.

We are celebrating 50+ years of bringing healing and
balance to the lives of entire families by honoring La Virgen
Maria, El Niño Fidencio and Antoñia Cruz De Garza who
have always been the heart of this vital and caring iglesia.
It has taken every single person involved over the past five
decades to propell Sociedad Guadalupana to higher levels
of success in building a stronger community.
Our founders recognized the need for a healing church
that could identify and meet the needs of any man, woman and child in need of spiritual aid,
and 50 years later we remain committed to fulfilling that goal. We are grateful to all those who
BELIEVE in our mission and are making it part of their own.

CANDLE Fundraiser
2014 kicks-off a legacy honoring the lives of three of the most pivotal people who
are dedicating their lives to keeping the Sociedad Guadalupana open, blessed, and
vibrant for future generations!
Grandma Antoñia (Toñita) Cruz Garza dedicated her life to El Niño Fidencio and
his mission. 2013 marked the 50th Anniversary of the Sociedad Guadalupana in
Decatur, Indiana. The Sociedad Guadalupana is named after the Virgen Maria our Lady of Guadalupe. It’s because
of her love, devotion and intercessory prayer that this iglesia is blessed and is being maintained for over 50 years. We
do not get here alone! They oversee and take care of us in the spirit and we aid them here on earth. It is an honor!
Please consider buying candles from the Sociedad Guadalupana Legacy fund raiser which honors them and supports
our chapel!

Spring Renew and Restore:
Wrap-Up and Thank You!
Volunteers showed-up. Their action, support and tools they brought with them provided
TLC needed to help prepare the Sociedad Guadalupana for the summer and complete much
needed upkeep. Various cleaning, landscaping, painting and maintenance updates were
completed. Other projects were completed but the pictures that were taken speak so much
louder than any words can ever say. Thank you to all who were able to help. If your
family notices something they would like to take care of or help repair, please let our Cajita
Mayor, Esther Eguia, know. Together we can work to maintain and preserve our beautiful
chapel.
We started communicating and inviting all missionarios in our first quarter
newsletter. Then we started planning a kick-off to our annual Spring Renew and
Restore project. Held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
After realizing that more work needed to be completed we quickly followed-up
with a second workday which took place on Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. This time we focused solely outside the iglesia renewing and restoring the
grounds, trimming bushes and planting and fixing a window whose base had aged
and rotted away.

to line the beautiful
walkway leading-up
to the church.

A bedroom was prepped and
painted.

hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad
and drinks.

Our goal was to brighten-up our
space a few shades lighter from dark
Turquoise to a Sea Foam. I’m sure it
made El Niño and Toñita very proud
to see the girls at work. See...she’s
in the background overseeing their
progress!
