Olga Kern a captivating performer.
A laureate of many international
competitions, she was the first
woman in thirty years to win the
Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn
International Competition. Her
world-wide career sees her playing
with top orchestras and conductors
such as Valery Gergiev, Leonard
Slatkin, Marin Alsop and
Christoph Eschenbach.

Singapore-born Melvyn Tan is
acclaimed for the insight and
imagination, as well as the wit and
poetry of his playing. His awareness
of historical performance practice
informs his unique sensibility and
his playing has been acclaimed from
Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw to
Vienna’s Konzerthaus, from London’s
Festival Hall to New York’s Lincoln
Center. As well as having an extensive
discography, he plays regularly at
festivals such as the Edinburgh, the
Salzburg and Bath’s Mozartfest.

to describe Harmonic Brass Munich
(trumpets, tuba, French horn and
trombone), which has been dazzling
audiences since their formation in
1991. The quintet travels the world,
delighting audiences of all ages
with their engaging stage presence,
their technical prowess and their colourful programmes. A graduate of the Moscow
Conservatory, Alexander Ramm is
a First Prize winner of the Beijing
International Competition and the
Russian National Music Competition.
He has also taken prizes at the UNISA
International String Competition, the
Paulo Cello Competition (Helsinki) and
Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Competition.
His playing is now regularly heard in
the great concert halls of Europe.
Pieter Jacobs is an accomplished
performer who often works with
distinguished visiting artists.

Possessed of a dazzling technique
and gorgeous tone, Hungarian
violinist Kristof Barati won the 2010
Paganini Competition. He now works
with the world’s leading orchestras
and with maestri such as Kurt
Masur, Yuri Bashmet and Zoltan
Kocsis. His chamber music partners

are some of the finest performers
in Europe today. Awarded the
prestigious Liszt Prize by the
Republic of Hungary, he plays a
1703 instrument by
Antonio Stradivarius.
