Window Systems
Meeting maximum demands for high
quality window manufacturing
Windows Systems Using tools effectively
The beauty of windows goes far
beyond an aesthetic value. The
thermal efficiency, durability, ease of
operation and value are ultimately what
defines quality. Understanding how
to most effectively utilize your tools
in the manufacturing process plays
a major role in finished craftsmanship and performance. Leitz Tooling
experts can help you save time,
reach high-tolerance specifications,
and produce quality windows using
the most innovative technology on
the market.
Today's top rated windows are
constructed from wood, plastics and
aluminum. This range of materials
gives rise to new requirements and
construction standards that increase
the functionality, durability and
efficiency of window performance.
As a full range manufacturer, Leitz
provides trendsetting tools and
window systems for each of these
materials as well as for all machining

Manufacturing Tips
Glazing bead manufacturing
Using the same slot and
tenon joint in the frame and
sash reduces the number of
components, gives a slimmer
look with fewer drainage holes,
and reduces manufacturing
costs.

No pre-splitting
No tear-outs despite irregular growth
Fewer rejects, less rework
Reduced cutting forces
Pre-cutting with ripple—profile
finishing with smooth knives
• Either from scantlings or from
square stock
A rebated glazing bead with
optimum surface can be produced
from a square raw bead

Rebate change
• Combines fixed element with tilt &
turn element in one part
• Filling bead no longer needed
Increasing the distance
between the weathered area
and the first seal improves
protection against driving rain.
The run time of RipTec
tools is between 20% to 30%
above that of standard tools.
Slot & tenon element
construction
• Manufacture entire facades with
existing tools
• Mix of elements (fixed glazed part,
tilt & turn part, window/doors) in
one facade
