1. Convergence of storage devices
To maintain diverse applications, enterprises have to purchase multiple types of storage products such as DAS products, FS SAN products, IP
SAN products, and NAS products. The product diversity challenges enterprises on unified management, resource dispatching, and product
compatibility, causing increased management cost and reduced system utilization. To address these challenges, Huawei offers the Virtual
Intelligent Storage (VIS) product for unified management. The VIS system provides the ability to consolidate disparate storage platforms onto a
single system while providing the flexibility to support the synchronous and asynchronous replication functions. The consolidated storage platform
helps reduce management and maintenance costs, and the synchronous and asynchronous replication functions help handle enterprises'
requirements for disaster recovery.
2. Convergence of storage products with security, servers, and networks
Storage systems incorporate snapshot, replication, backup, and other functions that used to be fulfilled by software running on servers. Storage
encryption guarantees a worry-free information security. By converging storage systems with security, servers, and networks, Huawei helps
customers simplify the storage network structure, maximize return on investment, and enhance processing efficiency and IT reliability.

As the IT architecture and storage systems grow complicated and difficult to handle, the need for an easy management over storage systems
becomes considerably strong. To help enterprises respond to the pressing need with ease, Huawei offers the Integrated Storage Manager (ISM)
storage management software. ISM provides unified storage management in terms of device discovery, event management, configuration
management, user management, performance management, security management, network resource management, and disaster recovery
management. As a user-friendly Graphic User Interface (GUI) –based management tool, ISM helps customers with quick installation,
configuration, and alarm masking so as to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
2. Conserving Energy and Reducing TCO
Huawei's commitment to developing energy-smart storage products are carried out through product design, development, procurement,
production, operation, and maintenance. To fulfill such a commitment, Huawei sets up an energy-saving design center and incorporates innovative
designs into storage products. Additionally, Huawei works on the optimal storage architecture for smooth storage evolvement, compelling

Huawei OceanStor Sx900 series unified storage system is a new-generation storage product for mid-range and high-end storage applications. It
boasts integration of block-level and file-level data storage, support for various storage protocols, and GUI-based central storage management.
