Imagine you’re renting an apartment, your
sink overflows, and your floor is now
flooded, who do you call? The Ghostbusters? No! Not at RNS! You call John and
the boys! Do you need your sidewalk repaired? Do you need a new deck? Call John
and the boys!
John Schott and the boys, Ray Saffell and
Roger Kildow, maintain all 13 houses that
our residential consumers reside in. No matter, day or night, they fix whatever is out of
order. Whether it’s a broken pipe or a new
porch, they are there. By putting a simple
work request, you can get these all stars to
come to the rescue!
It all began in November 2008, when RNS
hired John Schott as our Maintenance Manager. John’s mother, Nell, was from Fairpoint, Ohio and his father, John, was from
Wheeling. John said he was raised in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida where he attended
South Plantation High School. John was
one of four siblings, a brother and sister,
who are still living and a sister who has
passed away. John has a son, Ian, who
helped in the maintenance department back
in 2008. John enjoys hunting, fishing, and
relaxing with his animals.
Oh, and about John’s animals……….John
has three horses (Cowboy, Little Man, and
Hollywood), three cats (Black Cat, Candy
Cat, and Barn Cat), three peacocks (Kevin,
Fred and Dave), two dogs (Wade and Zar),
one duck (Donald-even though it is a female), and one crow (Dirty Bird). John said
the best part of working here is the clients
and all the challenges the job brings.
And because of all those challenges, RNS
then recruited one of the boys, Ray Saffell,
in May of 2009. Ray’s mother, Julia, was
originally from Fairpoint, Ohio and his father, Ray, from Glencoe, Ohio. Ray has
two brothers, Jim and John. Ray lives with
his mother and father in Fairpoint, Ohio
where he grew up and went to school at St
Clairsville High School. In his spare time he
enjoys fishing, hunting, practicing taxidermy
and spending time with his pit-bull named
Baby, who is not stuffed…..yet. Ray said he
really likes working here at RNS, especially
the carpentry part of the job.
Mary, fishing and relaxing with his
coon hound (Snoop) and boxer
(Max). Roger said working around
the clients and the staff makes it an
interesting day, every day, “you never
know what’s going to happen”.
These amazing men have helped
with every major event that RNS has
put together for the last 7 years. Even
though they are behind the scenes,
their dedication always shines
through. These guys just show up
and ask, “How can we help?”
Russell Nesbitt Services, Inc. would
like to give a huge shout out to John,
Ray, and Roger for always being
there when we need you, be it day or
night.
Our Ghostbusters!
Our other boy is Roger Kildow, who has
been with RNS since July, 2012. Roger’s
mother, Mary Ruth, was from Bethesda,
Ohio and father, Richard, was from St.
Clairsville, Ohio. Roger and his six siblings
were raised in St. Clairsville, Ohio where
Roger went to school.
Roger said that he, and his twin brother, are Left to Right: Roger Kildow, John
the oldest of the seven children his parents
Schott, and Ray Saffell
raised. Roger said that his parents started
with a set of twins and ended with a set of
twins. Roger resides in St. Clairsville, Ohio
with his son, Mitchell. Roger likes to spend
time with his two grandchildren, Chubs and

Where does the time go? How do we let
time get away from us? These are two
questions that scholars have tried to
answer for a millennia. Dr. Seuss once
wrote “How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness
how the time has flown. How did it get
so late so soon?” I think that the short
answer is that we are so busy with our
personal and professional lives that we
simply ignore time. Well, it seems like
time has raced by us again and the Holiday season has come and gone. We
spent time gathering with family and
friends to celebrate the holidays.

Please be sure to take a second to
thank yourself for supporting such a
noble cause because without your past
support we wouldn’t be able to provide
comfortable housing, warm meals, and
recreational activities to the numerous
clients that we call our “Family”.
Russell Nesbitt Services, Inc. is
embarking on our 58th year of service to
the community and 2016 appears to be

Members of the Knights of Columbus do a
great deal to assist people with intellectual
disabilities. One of the most popular and
successful programs is the fund-raiser in
which councils collect donations outside
stores and on street corners. This program
is conducted by the Knights of Columbus
state and local councils for the benefit of
people with intellectual disabilities In appreciation, the donor is offered a Tootsie Roll.
The high visibility of this program has led to
the campaign being referred to as the
“Tootsie Roll Drive.”
sion which is to “Provide life opportunities for individuals with disabilities and
enhance career growth and potential for
those who share their journeys.”
For us, the Time Is Now!
On behalf of the Board of Directors,

Kurt Benedict, Director of Operations for
WATCH, Inc., reported that “things are
going well at WATCH”. On December 9,
2015, WATCH received the WVDP REAP
Grant totaling $13,000. The grant money
will be used to assist with employee
wages in the WatchDog Shredding program, which will run through the 2016
calendar year.
In other news, we added another vehicle
to the WATCH list. The WatchDog box
truck was purchased after the buy-out
was presented at the end of the lease on
December 1st.
It was a fun eventful evening for all on
October 29th during the Fall Festival Resource Fair. Clients and staff had a
wonderful time. They played games such
as popping pumpkin and candy corn
toss, won prizes and gained knowledge
on services available throughout the Ohio
valley.
On November 18th, the WATCH building
was filled with the aroma of a sensational
Thanksgiving feast! The consumers and
staff filled their bellies full of the perfect
holiday meal. Santa Claus also came to
WATCH for their annual Christmas party
on December 16th. We recognize that
none of this would have been possible
without the sponsorship of The Wheeling
Civitan Club who covered all costs associated with each of these events. They
are truly good to us!!!
RNS Homecoming 2015
On October 16th, four ladies and four gentlemen
stood in front of their peers hoping to be crowned
king or queen. The red rose winner … King Morris
and Queen Leslie were crowned the 2015 homecoming King and Queen. With help from DJ Chuck
Sponhatlz, we danced until the music stopped!
We snacked on cookies and punch and
hung out with our friends from WATCH. We look
forward to next year and so do our future King and
Queens.
Our 2015 Queen, Leslie Bush (Left) &
Mary Eaves, a runner-up.

If you are ever lost, according to Glenda the
Good Witch, you should just follow the yellow
brick road! This years Halloween party featured
the entire crew from the Wizard of OZ.
Andre Birkett (Wicked Witch) Jim Holden (Tin man) Letty
Seabright (Scarecrow) Michelle Palmer (The Good witch)
Lacey Hotlosz (Dorothy) and Brian Breyer (Cowardly Lion)
With many other characters and a wide variety of costumes that ranged from the scariest
to the funniest. Among these were Minion
Mandy as the most creative, Little Orphan
“Mary” as prettiest, Jeff the ghoulish goblin as
the ugliest, Count Kevin was the scariest and
Jenny the most original as the Oscar Meyer
Wiener. Among others, we had cops and
robbers, nurses and doctors, hamburgers and
fries, we might not have had an Indian, but we
sure had a couple cowboys! YEEHAW!
