T
he Village of East Dundee is a picturesque community
located along the eastern banks of the Fox River in Northeast
Kane County. Its history dates back to the 1840s, when early set-
tlers began to build their homes on the hills overlooking the river. The
impressive structure that is known as Immanuel Luthern Church, was
build in 1866. Allen Pinkerton, who made Dundee his home, is recognized as one of the founders of the United States Secret Service and he
also served as the Chief Security Officer for President Lincoln. Following
the tragedy of the Great Chicago Fire in 1871, East Dundee became the
home of Haeger Bricks, later known internationally as Haeger Potteries,
and emerged as one of the largest suppliers of these now sought-after
bricks. Just after the turn of the century, D'Angelo Natural Spring Water
was founded in 1928 with the discovery of a local natural spring, and
flourishes today as an East Dundee business.
East Dundee is traversed by the Fox River Trail, a major pedestrian
and bicycle artery that offers enthusiasts an opportunity to see the Fox
Valley from Algonquin to Aurora. Initially used for trade purposes, the
Chicago Northwestern Railroad operated until the early 1970s when the
tracks were converted into what is now known as the Fox River Trail. A

been implemented to include a “Culinary District” complete with
restaurants and specialty shops to create a downtown destination.
Municipal investments in tax increment financing and business
development districts, along with community development in special
events and marketing are now visible. As the first municipality just
over the Cook County border, East Dundee helps businesses realize
a 60 percent property tax savings, on average, over Cook County
locations. Combined with several major public works projects, land
acquisitions, and private business investments, plans for East Dundee
have been carefully crafted to be a self-sustaining and viable downtown
district through a team of community, municipal, and business leaders.

“From the very first call, we had an exceptional experience
getting transitioned from Arlington Heights to our new space
in downtown East Dundee. Not only was the building department helpful, but the knowledge and efficiency was remarkable

If history is any indicator, it takes a unique combination of every resident, business, and visitor to create the cozy, small town environment
that makes East Dundee unique. “It’s an exciting time to be in East
Dundee right now,” said East Dundee Village President, Lael Miller,
in a recent village newsletter. “For too many years, we have heard
about what great potential East Dundee has. This is the year we turn
potential into reality.”

Payroll Vault is well positioned for success in the rapidly growing payroll
services industry. Health care reform and strict Federal and State regulations
have lead most business owners to procure payroll services. Payroll Vault’s
goal is simple, we are “Rethinking” payroll and “Re-Defining” how we serve
our clients, giving business owners advice and options that help them be
more successful, which creates an opportunity to for us to change the payroll
service industry. We are true to our vision: “To help businesses connect,
grow, improve systems, manage staff better…and we are a payroll service
company”.
Each weekend, The Depot on River Street hosts two different markets
in the early morning hours from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. On Saturdays, The Depot
Market is celebrating 25 years this year, and has a little something for
everyone. It’s been enhanced with a weekly historical speaker series at 11
a.m. and monthly appraisal faires. On Sundays, a newly created "Farm to
Fork" Farmers Market is comprised of Kane County sourced farm-fresh
products and food vendors, complete with live musicians, chalk artists,
and periodic food demonstrations. The Depot is always a hub of activity
and easy to get to from the Fox River bicycle path.
Our largest competitors, Paychex and ADP, also provide payroll services,
but what sets us apart is our focus on great customer service, expressed
through our “Company Essence,” which is centered on a genuine interest in
our clients and their satisfaction. Our Company Essence is focused around
the voluntary things we can do that leave a satisfied lasting impression with
every client.
By adopting advanced technologies, we remain cutting edge, reactive, and
able to serve legacy businesses along with new and dynamic companies. Our
company offers web based, paperless, and mobile payroll service solutions to
every business and their staff.
