WALTER WANG
RECEIVES
DEA LIFETIME
ACHIEVEMENT
AWARD
Walter Wang, Chairman and CEO of JM Eagle, the world’s largest manufacturer of plastic pipe,
was named the 2013 recipient of the DEA Educational Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award
for his contributions to further the organization’s mission. The award was presented at a gala
event on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
Walter Wang has served as a board member and
advocate of the DEA Educational Foundation for the
last five years. Walter has helped promote the
organization’s mission to prevent drug abuse by
educating all Americans about the detriments of
narcotics. Walter was a key sponsor in bringing the
DEA Museum to the California Science Center.
“This philanthropic
endeavor is dear to
my heart as I have
become more and
more aware that drug
abuse is a pervasive
problem in the fabric
of America and the
world today”
The DEA Gala was attended by more than 500 people
and thanks to generous donations from supporters the
event raised close to one million dollars– the largest
amount ever raised in the history of the organization.
The money will be used to continue the fight against
drug abuse in the United States and support the DEA
Educational Foundation’s drug prevention and
education programs. The event was featured on
several news stations, including Los Angeles affiliate
ABC7.
