Rev. Dr. Nehemiah Thompson, Pastor
Dear friends,
Greetings to you. September welcomes us all with open arms and warm hearts. We thank
God for the safety and health granted to all of us in the summer. We will gather again at
church and celebrate God’s love, sing praises to him and hear his word.
September brings several opportunities to witness to the community. On Rally Day
(September 13) we are starting Sunday School. A new generation of children are coming
up in our church and we should all participate in gathering all of them to attend Sunday
School on Sept. 13th.
September 20th will be our annual picnic after church. It will be held at Borough Park
(not Albert Park) The Christian Education committee is arranging special music and
revival preaching later in the day. Look for more details.
September 26th is the Family Fun Festival at the American Legion. There will be fun
activities for children. We expect the community children to gather and spend the hours
from 12pm to 3pm enjoying the activities planned for them. There will be entertainment
also. Please get excited about it. You may have already received detailed information.
Join us and spend the afternoon doing fun things and enjoying snacks.
I pray that as September begins God will be with you giving strength and courage to
meet the challenges of each day. We will gather at church and pray together. God bless
you.
With you in Christ's work,
Pastor Nehemiah

September Poem
July Baptism
Fear not! Our Redeemer is here! Our bodies
are bathed in the luscious waters of hope; our
souls tingle with joy! Each breath is a tender
kiss, each sigh a gentle caress. We are surrounded by the beauty and warmth of our
Savior. The sun smiles a glorious welcome
and the moon whispers secrets of a mysterious
God! Yet the Lord is as close as an elegant
embrace. Gorgeous passion fills us up--our
Lord is our parent and divine love. There is
no fear, only grace and grandeur and goodness
and glory! Alleluia! Amen

The service will be in the style of an old fashioned "tent meeting", complete with singing old favorite hymns, an uplifting message, fellowship,
and light refreshments, We also hope to share some historical information about our roots, John Wesley, and more. How did we come to be
known as "Methodists" anyway? What happened on Aldersgate
Street? What sets us apart from other Protestant denominations? Come
join us and you might find out!
