As we approach the culmination of our year of dance, and
the recital gets ever closer, we need to remind ourselves
that it takes a tremendous amount of effort and a good
dose of humor to produce a show. FAIR WARNING: Dress
Rehearsal may appear to be out of control periodically.
We assure you, this is not the case. For many of our little
dancers, this is their very first time on a large professional
stage under those big bright lights as we have at KEAN
UNIVERSITY. It can be daunting. If WE stay calm and
assured, the children will as well. They will learn they can
do it! And, if they don’t do it - EVERYTHING is a learning
experience! We are so proud of our dancers!!

DRESS REHEARSAL
You will receive a schedule for dress rehearsal
with your tickets. Upon arrival to the theater,
check in with a MDC staff member with a
clipboard. Each dance has a specified time to be
rehearsed. You may have your picture taken
with the photographer when you are not needed
on stage. If you are in one number please sit in
the auditorium with your class until you are
called on stage. If you are in Musical Theatre or
multiple numbers you may use the backstage
dressing rooms to change. Dance Reflections
Dance Company has the first dressing room on
the right. Musical Theatre has the two dressing
rooms on the left. All other students use the two
music rooms.


IT’S RECITAL TIME!
Did you receive your costumes & tights? If
you didn’t, please call the office
immediately!
Have you mailed in ticket orders, t-shirt
orders, boosters, keepsake ads, business
cards? The deadline is May 25th.
WE WILL BE ACCEPTING PREPAID
FLOWER ORDERS THROUGH MAY 25TH.
BUY A STAR FOR YOUR STAR $1.00 at
studio, dress rehearsal or and day of the
recital (proceeds benefit Dance Reflections)
MDC wear, accessories, and more dance
items will be available on the day of the
recital!
PLEASE—no underwear under the
costumes NO PANTY LINES PLEASE and
girls must wear the tights GIVEN with their
costumes!
Hair up in a low bun, part on the left side,
no bangs. Please spray and bobby pin!!
Make-up applied (blush & lipstick) for
rehearsal and day of show (Face washes out
under lights)! Please secure any head-piece
with bobby pins
On recital day, all students in Shows I & II
must be signed in and out by a parent. On
signing in, one parent will receive a
wristband. The parent with the wristband
must pick up their child at the end of the
show. To allow for a smooth dismissal,
please do not let family crowd the pickup
area!

Wondering how to keep your dancers happy
and busy this summer? Wonder no more! We
have many exciting programs this summer for
children ages 2 to adult! Check out our fun
and creative alternative to the “there’s
nothing to do” blues! Spaces fill up quickly, so
reserve your place ASAP! If you haven’t
received our Summer Schedule via e-mail,
download the brochure at

the office. Please remember to include the
$15 Registration Fee with your tuition when
registering for Summer Classes.

AFTER MAY 20th YOU CAN COME TO THE STUDIO TO PICK UP YOUR TICKETS. IMMEDIATELY LOOK FOR
THE DRESS REHEARSAL SCHEDULE AND CHECK THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED ALL THE TICKETS THAT
YOU REQUESTED. THE 2013-2014 CLASS RECOMMENDATION SCHEDULE IS ALSO ATTACHED
