This year we have almost 200 4-Hers using the Helotes AG Activity Center. If you have
ever been involved with the 4-H Program you know there are no paid employees, everyone is
a volunteer. Volunteers are what make our program successful and what is great is that we
have several past 4-H members returning to help our program.
The slate of officers and directors for the 2015-2016 year follows:
President:
Brian Loessberg
Vice President: Edward Vigil
Secretary:
JoAnn Sosa
Treasurer:
Madelyn Schott
Directors:

Our time capsule opening on Saturday, October 10th, was a huge success. We want to thank
everyone who was able to attend and share in this special moment. Items placed in the capsule
in 1995 were shared and these items plus many more will be put back in the capsule and again
opened in 2035. We also took this opportunity to take a group photo and spell out “4 H”.

In December 2010, the Helotes Ag Booster Club purchased 48 acres in Medina County
and there is great potential for our 4-H programs. From camps, rifle and archery ranges,
gardens, arenas, and many other educational and recreational projects, we are ready to
move forward. Jamie Carpenter created our new gate to welcome people to the property.
The Helotes AG Booster Club paid the mortgage off in August 2015. Now we are ready
to move forward and are open to any suggestions and help. You can contact Gary Schott,
[email protected], text or call 210 241-4748.

Time Management:
Teamwork:
“By learning to set priorities and use their
time most effectively, 4-H members develop skills and confidence for leadership
and self-discipline. They also learn that
their decisions and actions (or inactions!)
can directly influence their lives for better
or worse; they begin to see themselves as
active participants in their futures.”
-Purdue Extension Office
TEAMWORK: to achieve synergistic results
that exceed anything one individual can do
alone.
“4-H teamwork is built around the involvement of each person in the life and task of
the club and/or project. The team approach assures that 4-H belongs to all
those who belong to 4-H.”
-Mike Klumpp, University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture
