The vision
February 1, 2016
We had a wonderful start on Sunday with Scientist and Biblical Creationist, Dr. Grady
McMurtry. In the Sunday School hour and in both Worship Services we were confronted with
science and Biblical truth in a way that most of God's people seldom hear. We concluded the
day with a greater understanding that science is not an enemy of God's truth and as always, we
saw again that every word of the Bible is indeed true. Truly our God is an awesome God. The
services continue Monday - Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
It is time to pray for and think of ways you can reach out to your unchurched and unsaved
friends and neighbors by getting them to come with you to hear the Collingsworth Family
at Morningside on Wednesday, March 9, at 7:00 p.m. I ask the Lord each day to make my Wayne Robertson

heart conscious of those around me who have not received Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Anyone
without Jesus faces an eternity more horrible than the mind can imagine. The Bible's teaching on hell is terrible, but it
is still true. May we be motivated to tell others about Jesus because we love him and because we love them.
I look forward to sharing another Lord's Day with you this coming Sunday.

Monday - Wednesday
February 1 - 3
7:00 p.m.
Our sessions with Dr. Grady McMurtry have been informative, inspirational, and a blessing!
Wow, that man is smart! It is so uplifting to learn about God’s amazing work in creation.
This Wednesday (February 3) our Teachers meetings (Preschool, Children, Youth, and Adults)
will begin at 6:00 p.m. and dismiss at 6:30 p.m. We will omit the regular 6:00 p.m. meeting for
Class Coordinators and Department Directors. These changes are to help those in Choir &
Orchestra get to warm-up on time in preparation for our final service with Dr. McMurtry.
Thank you for your prayers for the College & Career

ministry. We had a wonderful fellowship Friday night:
great food, lots of fun, a wonderful inspirational video, and some touching
testimonies. The Lord blessed us with several new folks. Here’s the best
news of all – one student received Christ as a result of the fellowship!!!
The College & Career years are some of the most important in the formation
of habits, values, and standards. Life-changing decisions are made during those years. These decisions are difficult
enough for those who have grown up in church, but the vast majority of young adults in that age range have no
religious background or foundation at all. The so-called “Millennials” (those born between 1980 and 2000) are the
most unchurched and un-Christian generation in American history. They have been raised on a steady diet of selfgratification and the belief that all religions lead to God. The majority of this generation are in favor of homosexual
marriage and they don’t believe in absolutes such as Jesus proclaimed in John 14:6 (“I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”).
The challenge to the Christian church is to reach these young adults with the Good News of Jesus Christ. It would be
hard to estimate the earthly and eternal impact of one student coming to Christ during these important years. Please
pray for the College & Career ministry.
How can believers with differing opinions about debatable issues get along together in the church? Find out by
coming to Sunday School this Sunday at 8:45 a.m. I hope to see you there!

Our students are about to be embarking on a study entitled Exchange: Gaining Through Giving Up, a powerful time
of Bible study and application. Exchange will guide students to see the Gospel and the impact it has on their lives
through the lens of various “exchanges.” Exchange will introduce the following key exchanges:
 The Great Exchange, where Christ exchanged heaven for earth and His holiness for our sin, all that we
might exchange death for life.
 The exchange of self for Christ that speaks to how students view the leadership of their lives
 The exchange of hate for love helping students understand that we’re called to love others
 The exchange of comfort for calling, where students are challenged to accept Christ’s call to actively
engage in being messengers of the Gospel.
Would you pray that our students would have a life changing experience as we dig deeper into God’s Word?
