Cumberland introduces the i-plus3
Control Pan utilizing infrared technology
to detect feed levels for proper and
reliable operation of your feeding system.
Infrared technology requires no moving
parts or sensitivity adjustments for a low
maintenance altenative to traditional
control pan designs.
As the i-plus3 Control Pan fills, three
infrared beams detect the feed level.
When the feed level breaks all three
sensors, the auger will stop automatically. When the feed drops below the
sensors, the auger restarts after a 60
second delay. Jamie Statler, Grower for
Tyson Foods in Clarksville, Arkansas
commented “The i-plus3 control pans
work well and are mechanically sound.
They are very effective at stimulating bird
activity and maintaining feeding patterns
with consistent activation.”
The i-plus3 end control pans and center
house control pans are available in
Cumberland E-feeder and Hi-Lo VIII
models. In addition, the i-plus3 Control
Pan includes its own power supply
providing a cost effective solution for
attaching Cumberland’s optional LED
light assembly for 360° lighting coverage.

AUTO NESTING FOR
BREEDER HOUSE
Our Cumberland Auto nest system
supports global awareness and
approaches to promoting animal
welfare towards environmental
friendly, especially in developed
country. In this new era, Cumberland Auto Nest System is a better
choice in Breeder farming.
One of the main advantage of Auto
Nest system is to diminish the
chance of stress in breeder community. Hen’s stress will be decreased
by reducing human contact with the
hens during the eggs collection at
the nest. The automatic manure belt
collection system is designed to
maximize biosecurity maintenance.
It has well equiped system with cozy
environment and better airflow for
bird laying.
Furthermore, it has good ventilation
for optimum manure drying and can
reduce ammonia emissions. This
hen house is built for easy inspection
with convenient entrance to ensure
the hen’s comfort, health and safety.
And, by minimizing the wood
shaving can reduce the red mites
or insects.

HIGH EFFICIENT FAN DESIGNATES SUPERIOR

With the recent increment in the
electricity tariff, growers are making
prudent decisions when it comes to
choosing a ventilation fan. As a leader
in the ventilation fan producer that
equipped with years of experience,
GSI offers high energy-efficient fans
that are not only economical to invest
in but also high in performance with
low operating cost. Within these 3
years, GSI Asia has been actively
spending its resources to upgrade
its facilities and implementing Lean
Enterprise manufacturing processes
in order to deliver the high quality fan
that satisfies the needs and demands
of the growers.
Each model of the GSI produced
ventilation fan are strictly required to
be tested in our wind tunnel and the
test results interpret the performance
of that particular fan. All these test
results are transparent and are readily
available for our customers. This
allows the growers to select the best
ventilation fan to suit their requirements and customize to their own
application in the farm.
In addition, all the propellers manufactured must go through stringent
tests in our world-class balancing
machine before delivering the product
to our customers. With the aid of this
machine, we had minimized the
vibration that generated due to the
imbalance of the propeller. This will
ensure that we maintain our quality
and helps to prevent unexpected
breakdown in the field that because
of manufacturing defect.
GSI will never be satisfied with our
achievement status and will continuously focus on offering the most
comprehensive range of ventilation
fans and to lead the ventilation fans
industry.

House temperature has a substantial
influence on birds’ health and performance. In cold climate zones,
adequate heating system is a necessity to provide an optimal house
temperature for the birds to live in.
There are several types of heating
system available in the market such as
forced-air heater, conventional brooders,
radiant brooders, radiant tube heaters,
high intensity radiant heater and
‘alternative heating systems’.
GSI is proud to offer our high efficient
forced-air heaters, the Super Saver
and Purafire to our customers. These
high efficient heaters maximize the
thermal yield convected to the birds
with minimal energy costs.
A comparison of energy efficient and
cost saving is given in the following
example of a case study. In an area of
40’ x 250’ will require 450,000 BTU/hour
of heat, which is equivalent to 12 units
of conventional brooders operating
simultaneously to deliver the energy to
heat up this area. Each brooder
converts 0.85 kg of LPG to 40,000
BTU/hour; therefore, total LPG
consumption per hour is 10.2 kg.
Compared to forced-air heaters, only
2 units with an output of 225,000
BTU/hour are required to do the same
job. Each forced-air heater will consume
4.78 kg of LPG resulting in a 6%
saving compared to the conventional
brooder.
