THIS WEEK
PRESENTATION ON SUICIDE PREVENTION
The Mental Health Committee of Immaculate Conception
parish has arranged for a special speaker to do a presentation on suicide prevention in
NUOCI HALL
TUESDAY JUNE 21, 2016
6:30—8:00 P.M.
Discussed will be QPR (which stands for Questions, Persuade, Refer) which is like CPR for suicide prevention. It
is an emergency response to someone in a suicide crisis.
Also, like CPR in the Chain of Survival from a lifethreatening medical crisis, early recognition of warning
signs, early intervention and early professional assessment and care can save lives.
Everyone is invited to come. Pass the word. Bring your
friends or people you know who might be interested. The
more we know the more we can truly serve in the name of
the Lord.
MISSION TALK TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE
DIOCESE OF KAYANGA, TANZANIA
The Catholic Diocese of Kayanga, Tanzania, was created in August 2008. It is located in the extreme northwestern corner of Tanzania in East Africa where electricity and running water are, for the most part, unknown.
There are no paved roads, and a number of them are impassable during the rainy season. The Gospel was brought
to this area about 100 years ago, and rapidly the Church is
taking root. About 66% of the total population is Catholic.
With such phenomenal growth in the faith comes a
need for priests to minister to the faithful. The new diocese has been blessed with many young people who want
to train for the priesthood. The challenge is a lack of
funds for training, not only seminarians but also those who
will be working in the area of evangelization.
Fr. Robert Kimbaleba, who resides at the Cathedral of
St. George in Karagwe, Kagera region, will be here next
weekend to speak at all the Masses about the need for
funds in Kayanga. His coming is part of the Archdiocesan
Mission Coop program which allows missionaries each
year to come to the parishes and ask for help. The support
of all of us is important to help the developing diocese of
Kayanga.

8:00 a.m. Jack and Jocelyn Farhar

5:00 p.m. Adam Cipoletti, Oliver W. Setiyadi
We are in need of altar servers for:

Sunday 8 and 10am Masses

Please call the office
303-665-5103 ext. 107 to register.
MENTAL HEALTH MINISTRY
Our Mental Health Ministry offers two support groups here at Immaculate Conception Church on the 1 st and 3rd
Wednesdays of every month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. meeting in July are July 6th and 20th. The PEER SUPPORT
GROUP (for those dealing with mental health challenges) meets in the Family Room. The FAMILY AND FRIENDS
SUPPORT GROUP meets in the library (near the office). Meetings in July are July 5th and 19th.
UPCOMING EVENTS
We are looking for volunteers to provide dinners for LEAD, a high school leadership program
sponsored by Franciscan University, and hosted by
Immaculate Conception during the week of June 2024. The group consists of 35 teens and adult leaders.
Please contact Mark if you are able to help serve.
Strength of the Saints Relic
Tour:
June 29th in Denver
The relics of two saints who exemplified
courage and conviction in the face of persecution are coming to the Archdiocese of Denver. St.
Thomas More and St. John Fisher were prominent 16th century Englishman who stood against King Henry VIII’s attempted supremacy over the Catholic Church, and accepted
martyrdom instead of abandoning their faith. This fearless
witness is especially compelling to American Catholics
today, as we face threats to our religious liberty and right of
conscience.
Relics of the saints will be available for veneration at the
Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Denver from 9
AM-12 NOON & 4:30 – 5:30PM. After the 5:30PM Mass
at the Cathedral there will be a presentation about the relics
and an opportunity for veneration. The Strength of the
Saints Relic Tour is being organized by the Colorado Catholic Conference, and is part of the broader Fortnight for
Freedom, a call to fourteen days of prayer, education and
action for religious freedom in the United States and
abroad.

DO NOT SIGN PHYSICIAN-ASSISTED
SUICIDE PETITION
Outside interests are currently funding an effort to get
Physician-Assisted Suicide laws added to our ballots here
in Colorado. To do so they are paying people to collect
signatures in our communities throughout the summer.
We need everyone to know they should not sign any
petition that would put physician-assisted suicide on
the ballot in November. Be reminded, often signature
gatherers can mislead the public about the details of each
law, using words such as “compassion” and “choice.” It’s
important that we alert our communities that physicianassisted suicide is a dangerous proposition that we should
avoid. To learn more about this issue visit archden.org/life
OPEN YOUR HEART AND HOME
To a Catholic exchange student from Spain and Germany for the coming 2016-2017 school year
Volunteer host families (with or without children) as
well as single parents are needed to provide food, a
bed and a loving home for the coming school year, one
or two semesters, starting in August. EMF students
have medical insurance, spending money for their personal expenses and expect to share their host family’s
daily life including household responsibilities. They
speak English, are well-screened and eager to experience life in America. Their stay here is sponsored and
supervised by EMF (Educational Merit Foundation), a
non-profit, educational exchange program. For more
information on EMF students, please call MarieClaude Dijoud now at 1-800-467-8363 or visit our
web site at www.emfusa.org
Thank you very much for your help! They are eager to
learn that a home has been found for them. Your contribution to this cause is most appreciated.
Kind regards,

Decimosegundo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
Junio 19, 2016
Yo he estado casada por 46 años. Déjame te cuento lo que me hizo mi marido.” Entonces me contó a mi y a
