The Virginia Section AWWA
Plant Operations Committee
invites you to attend the
2016 Operators Conference,
May 4 – 6, 2016 in Virginia Beach, VA
The VA AWWA Plant Operations Committee proudly announces the
17th annual Operators Conference. We’ve come a long way from the
Ingleside Resort in Staunton but have remained dedicated to promoting
education and training, increasing performance and fostering communication among water works operators, maintenance and management
personnel. Attendance is recommended for waterworks operators of
both small and large groundwater and surface water systems. Come
match wits against fellow operators in the Top Ops Competition or
cheer for your favorites.
Top Ops Competition
During the Plant Operations Conference, a competition is conducted to find the Top Operators in Virginia to
represent the Virginia Section at the AWWA Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE).
The competition consists of a Jeopardy style format with teams answering questions related to water treatment. Teams consisting of 1 – 3 licensed operators compete for trophies and cash prizes; 1st place $300/team
member; 2nd place $200/team member; 3rd place $100/team member.
Financial assistance ($1000/team member) is offered by the Virginia Section for the team to compete at ACE
the following year. Please direct questions and comments to Jonathan England at 804.876.3977, or
email [email protected].
