AUTOMATEDPEOPLE MOVER CONSTRUCTION IMPACT AT TERMINAL
THREE CURBS
The construction of the Automated People Mover, which will link New Terminal 1, Terminal 2,
Terminal 3 and Lot 6A, will commence on April 29, 2003. To accommodate this project the
arrivals and departure curbs require modification. In an effort to control the impact of this
construction on the users of the curbs, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) has
developed a traffic management plan based on the deployment of additional staff, curb
allocations and restrictions, signage enhancements and operational measures. The following
measures, amongst others, will be introduced:

Relocation of commercial vehicle staging
Removal of a high percentage of the third curb;
Implementation of lane restrictions;
Departures:

Partial demolition of Sheraton Hotel bridge deck and rerouting pedestrian traffic to
and from the Hotel;

To encouragemotoriststo stay off the curbs and use the parking garage at Terminal
3 instead,the GTAA will offer the first 30 minutesof parkingfree.

Vehicles will be staged in the Oval Lot until their party is ready for pick-up;
Vehicles will be restricted to no more than ten minutes on the curb for the
loading/unloading of passengers;
Commercial vehicle operators will be restricted to one vehicle at a time at the curb.
