17, 2015. Mr. Campbell, a
native of Tullahoma, was the
son of the late Milton and
Lema Ann Pearson Campbell.
Mr. Campbell was a historian
who loved Tullahoma and
enjoyed sharing its history
with everyone. He was also a
train enthusiast who enjoyed
riding trains and visiting with
the various conductors. He
loved all sports and had played
softball for many years. He later
became an avid Tullahoma
High School Baseball fan
and enjoyed attending their
games. Survivors include his
wife, Patricia Campbell of
Tullahoma; son, Milton Jay
Campbell of Louisville; sisters,
Suzanne Yellig of Raleigh, NC
and Carol Campbell Brantley
and husband, Mike of Beech

He was a member of Eastside
Nazarene Church and enjoyed
being outdoors, hiking and
fishing. He loved people and
especially enjoyed children.

She was born in Augusta, GA
to Hansford and Marjorie
Anderson.
She
attended
William Robinson Grammar
School, Tubman High School
and Junior College of Augusta.
A tomboy in her youth, she
loved the great outdoors and
could name every animal and
most flowers. During World
War II, she was a proud member
of the Victory Corps, planting a
Victory Garden at her family's
home. She graduated from
University of North Carolina,
Chapel Hill with a bachelor's
degree in botany. In 1949,
she and Harry C. Yeatman
married at the Church of Good
Shepherd in Augusta, GA. They
moved to Sewanee, TN in 1950
when Professor H.C. Yeatman
began teaching biology at the
University of the South. Jean
continued collecting snakes
and other wild animals as she
had since childhood. They
even had a pet skunk, which
was an auxiliary mascot for
the university's football team.
She taught horseback riding
at St. Mary's School from 1951
to 1966. She shared her love of
nature with children by leading
Cub Scouts, Brownies, and Girl
Scouts on hiking, canoeing
and caving adventures. Active

husband wrote "Nature Notes"
for the Sewanee Mountain
Messenger from 1985 to 2014.
Along with her husband, she
was the first recipient of the
Trails & Trilliums' Yeatman
Environmental
Education
Award, established in their
honor in 2007. They were also
presented the State Naturalist
Award by the Tennessee
Department of Environment
& Conservation in 2009. She
was preceded in death by her
husband who passed away in
2013. Survivors include her
sister, Ann Anderson (Becky
Davenport) of Augusta, GA; son,
Clay (Paula) Yeatman of Lilburn,
GA; daughter, Jean H. Yeatman
(Claude dePamphilis) of State
College, PA; and grandsons,
Walker and Harry. The family

named Zelda available for adoption.
She entered our shelter as a stray and
has been at the shelter since April 2015.
She is approximately 2.5 years old and is
up-to-date on most of her vaccinations.
Zelda weighs approximately 25 lbs. She
gets along well with other dogs and
children. She will receive a free spay
with a $35 adoption fee provided by
the Tullahoma Animal Shelter. Zelda
would love a forever home! We feel that
she would make an excellent pet! Willy
