"To come to Christ and lead others to Christ"
PASTORAL REFLECTION
We are approaching the end of the liturgical year in
which the readings take on an eschatological flare,
meaning that they are focused on the end times.
Jesus suggests that when the end is near, we will
know it by the signs that are taking place around us.
We read in the Book of Revelation of the great
tribulation that will accompany the end times. It
does us no good to fear the apocalypse; rather, it
should inspire us to work for the perfection of
heaven on earth. If we saw the dawning of God's
Kingdom of peace in our world, the earth, as we
know it, would certainly pass away.
Challenge yourself to perform one act of love in the
week ahead that could help bring the Kingdom a
little closer.
COLLEGE ADDRESSES
Father Dan is seeking addresses of all college
students from the parish. He still needs almost
all of those who graduated high school this last
year.
If addresses have changed please be sure to
get them to Father Dan by Thanksgiving.

CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS PIE SALE
Do you know someone away from the Catholic
Church? Help bring your friends and loved-ones back
to the Catholic Church!
Did you know that Pope John Paul II, Pope Emeritus
Benedict XVI and now Pope Francis proclaim that
Catholics should use modern media to spread the
gospel message?
This coming Lent the Diocese of Des Moines is
partnering with CatholicsComeHome.org to air
inspiring TV commercials throughout our diocese
inviting those away from the faith back ‘home’ to the
Catholic Church!
Bishop Pates asks that you prayerfully support this
effort by generously contributing to the special
collection to support this initiative.
WINTER WEATHER
If school is called off because of bad weather at
Glenwood Community Schools, there will be no Mass
that day and the Blessed Sacrament will be reposed and
there will be no adoration for that day. Thank you.
Catholic Daughters are making
apple pies and selling them for
$10 (with cooking instructions)
next weekend, November 21/22.
Just in time for Thanksgiving!
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS 5TH SUNDAY ROSARY
To help bring parishioners together in a spiritual activity
and promote devotion to Mary, the Knights of Columbus
Supreme council is pleased to announce a new church
activity, the 5th Sunday Rosary Program. Knights, their
families and other parishioners are encouraged to pray the
rosary as a corporate body every time a 5th Sunday occurs
during a month. The 5th Sunday Rosary services will be
conducted on Nov. 29, Jan. 31, and May 29, during the
2015-2016 fraternal year at 9 am in the chapel.
Soup and Song Meeting!
We are once again the host site for the
annual Soup and Song fundraiser. If
you would like to help plan or work this
event please call Theresa. Our first and
only meeting is Monday November 16th
at 6:30. Come join the fun!
Students and Chaperons will be traveling to attend the
National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis, IN this Week.
The group would like to thank the parish family for supporting their
efforts to attend the conference. Holy Rosary is sending the largest group
