Ken Ellis, and Ken Weathersby
Pastors will have guided conversations about
racial reconciliation, gospel collaboration,
and disciple development. Prayer, balancing
time, 21st century Pastoral leadership in the
family, in the church, and in the community
will be explored.
Chris McNairy, Johnny Ervin
and James Dixon
We will discuss missions ministry from the
biblical mandate and in context relating to
local (Jerusalem), state and regional (Judea
and Samaria), as well as world-wide (Uttermost) missions.

Explores individual and local church stewardship based on biblical principles. Retirement

Leroy Fountain, Eddie Jones,
and Willie McLaurin
God is calling out many to undergird the
local church where they are planted, while
others are called out to experience serving
before being sent out to lead. In these modules we will discuss certainty of the ministerial call, the prayer life of a minister, the
character of a minister, being thoroughly
furnished, and serving in various capacities
in the local body.
Pastor’s Wives/
Women’s Ministry
Dessie Dixon, Carolyn Fountain,
Wendy Scott, and Ivory Craig
Through sessions we will minister to and
encourage specifically pastors’ wives and
sharing insights of how best to minister to the
various female contexts in the 21st century
mission field and local church.
Cross Racial Ministry
Kevin Smith and Richard Taylor
Mississippi has the distinction of being the
state with the largest percentage of African
Americans in America (57% White and 40%
Black). This mission field dynamic informs a
missional conversation that is primarily racial
and secondarily cultural. Both Black and
white churches now and going forward will
need to wrestle with cross racial inclusion.
These modules will address this conversation
in practical biblical ways.
Leadership Development
Larry Garner
Explores the pattern of Jesus as the leadership example for the church, serving out of
spiritual giftedness, seeing the transformational work of the Holy Spirit, and knowing/
understanding doctrine as an essential element in leading/equipping other disciples
for the work of the ministry.
Stewardship
Church School and
Church Growth
Roger Orman and Charles Grant
Discusses enlisting teachers, equipping
teachers, new member orientation approaches, in reach, and intentionally starting new
units. We will also share various resources
to achieve success in the church school and
disciple making.
Music and Worship
Lawrence and Yolanda Overbey
Worship is the heart of God. In these sessions we will talk about what authentic
worship looks like. How to facilitate group
worship in various settings, among diverse
peoples, and different size churches in the
small and mid-sized context.
Church Administration
Willie McLaurin and Chris Elkins
Explores carrying out the business and organizational side of the local church. In addition to church administration principles,
personnel and insurance matters will be
discussed as well as legalities and financial
record keeping.

field for Gospel Planting. Discuss effective
methods of personal and group evangelism.
