Foreword
Shin Kong Group traces its origin back to the establishment of Shin Kong Store in 1945 by group founder Mr.
Ho-Su Wu. Shin Kong Store was engaged in the trading of fabrics and the import and export of sugar and tea.
Shin Kong entered the manufacturing industry in the 1950s with the founding of Shinkong Spinning Co., Ltd.
It further expanded in the 1960s through investments in non-life and life insurance, gas, and synthetic fiber,
laying a solid enterprise foundation. In the 1970s, Shin Kong began to diversify into construction, farming, and
department stores. It broadened its business scope again in the 1980s to include security and high-rise building
management. Mr. Ho-Su Wu passed away in October 1986. Mr. Eugene Tung-Chin Wu succeeded the founder
and set out to fulfill the founder's vision. Under his leadership, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital was
established and the Shin Kong Life Tower was built. Chairman Wu also oversaw the steady expansion of Shin
Kong affiliates into other areas of financial services, security services, manufacturing, and consumer goods. He
brought together Taiwan's best and the brightest to improve the quality of life in Taiwan and create jobs. At the
same time, the group has given back to society through the establishment of a hospital, the Shin Kong Medical
Club (SKMC), scholarships and charitable foundations, earning numerous awards from the government and
general public for its contributions.
In 2002, as Taiwan's economy developed vigorously, the Shin Kong Group officially set up Shin Kong Financial
Holding Co., Ltd. (SKFH). Today, the holding company brings together Shin Kong Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (SKL),
Shin Kong Commercial Bank Co., Ltd. (SKB), Shin Kong Investment Trust Co., Ltd. (SKIT), Shin Kong Property
Insurance Agency (SKPIA), and Shin Kong Venture Capital (SKVC). Shin Kong integrates the resources of these
affiliates to serve customers with full range of innovative financial products. In recent years, SKFH's life insurance
and banking subsidiaries have successfully expanded into overseas markets. SKL partnered with China's Hainan
Airlines to launch Shin Kong-HNA Life Insurance; SKB opened a Hong Kong branch; and SKVC established Shin
Kong Leasing Corp. in Suzhou, further internationalizing the scope of Shin Kong's financial services.
Looking ahead, Shin Kong will develop into international markets from its firm foundation in Taiwan. In our
commitment to serving the public and enriching society, the group will continue to put customers and service
first and grow as one of the most trusted, high quality, and best performing international enterprises.

Shinkong Insurance and Shin Kong Life Insurance (SKL) were established
under the Shin Kong Group in 1963 to provide industry-leading
insurance services. In line with economic development as well as
financial liberalization and internationalization in Taiwan, the group
founded Shin Kong Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (SKFH) in 2002 with SKL
as the flagship enterprise. Since then, SKFH has provided a platform for
integrating the business and sales resources of the Shin Kong Group to
provide customers with the convenience of one-stop financial services.

Shin Kong Financial Holding Co., Ltd. (SKFH) is one of Taiwan's top
financial groups. The company was founded on February 19, 2002, with
its headquarters at the Shin Kong Life Tower, the financial landmark of
Taipei. Since then, SKFH has grown through the acquisition of UnitedCredit Commercial Bank and Macoto Bank and the merger of Shin Kong
Investment Trust (SKIT) and New Light Asset Management. These mergers
and acquisitions have expanded the scale of SKFH's managed assets and
enabled the company to provide a fuller range of financial services.
Life insurance and banking are two core businesses of SKFH. The group's
subsidiaries include Shin Kong Life Insurance, Shin Kong Bank, Shin Kong
Investment Trust, Shin Kong Property Insurance Agency, and Shin Kong
Venture Capital. The scope of financial services has been broadened, with
operational branches spread in Taiwan. Based on strict risk controls and
sound financial planning, the company is steadily expanding market share
and the scope of its financial services through both organic and external
growth. Our organic growth strategy is based on improving customer
penetration, enhancing product design, and further integrating sales
channels. The company is also leveraging subsidiary resources for crossselling of life insurance, banking, securities, fund, and non-life insurance
products to increase the contribution of such sources to net profits. External
growth will be achieved through ongoing assessment of complementary

On the overseas front, Shin Kong-HNA Life Insurance, a Beijingheadquartered joint venture between SKL and China's Hainan Airlines
Group, began operations in April 2009 based on a sound strategy to
progressively expand in the China market. At the end of 2011, SKL received
QFII status. SKB launched operations of its Hong Kong branch on May 6,
2011, positioning the bank for expansion in the cross-strait Chinese market.
In addition, Shin Kong Venture Capital has been working closely with other
SKFH members to develop business opportunities. The company carefully
identifies investment opportunities with development potential. Through
a 100% reinvestment in a third area, the company established Shin Kong
Leasing Corp. (Suzhou), a financial leasing subsidiary based in Suzhou,
China. The subsidiary began operations on November 22, 2011, to meet the
operation financing needs of mainland-based Taiwanese enterprises. The
company plans to expand the scale of its leasing business and accumulate
experience to lay the foundation for SKB to establish branches and
subsidiaries in the mainland market. SKB and SKL also have established
representative offices in Vietnam with an eye on the development potential
of that market.

Shin Hai Gas Corp.
Shin Hai Gas Corp. is a natural gas utility established in 1966. The company
is dedicated to providing customers with cost-effective, safe, convenient
and environmentally friendly gas supply under the guiding principle of
"absolute safety and satisfaction-guaranteed services." The company was
publicly listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TAIEX) in April 1998.
Shin Hai Gas supplies piped natural gas along with gas line equipment
installation and maintenance services to about 280,000 households in the
New Taipei City districts of Sanchong, Banqiao and Xinzhuang. In addition,
the company has embedded fiber optic cable in its gas pipelines and
provides long distance land cable circuit and Category 1 telecommunication
circuit leasing services.
To ensure the stability of gas supply and enhance service quality, the
company built a delivery port at CPC Corporation's Wugu Gas Distribution
Station. It has also strengthened the earthquake resistance of its gas
pipelines and set up a Disaster Response Center to enhance emergency

Shin Kong Chao Feng Co., Ltd. (previously known as China Chao Feng) was
established in 1974 in coordination with government policy to develop
eastern Taiwan. The 726-hectare site is located on reclaimed riverbed area
in the eastern Taiwan township of Fenglin, Hualien County. The site was
initially reclaimed with soil and gravel and enhanced with river silt, land
improvements, experimental planting and the development livestock to
create Taiwan's largest recreation farm.
The farm has resort style cabins, a self-developed hot spring spa, dairy farm,
petting zoo, ecological bird park, orchard, scenic lake area, and Harvest

Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital to serve the public with top-notch medical
equipment, facilities, and professionals. It also founded Shin Kong Medical
Club (SKMC) to provide comprehensive services in preventive medicine. In
addition, the group established Shin Kong Shien Ya International Co., Ltd.,
combining healthcare and beauty care to provide complete skin care services.
Shin Kong Group has also set up various charitable foundations to serve the
elderly and children by providing scholarships and funding for philanthropic,
relief, art and cultural activities, as well as support for disadvantaged groups
as part of its commitment to the betterment of society.

Mr. Ho-Su Wu, the founder of Shin Kong Group, believed that "hospitals are
a permanent cause and contribute perpetually to the well-being of mankind".
Chairman Eugene T.C. Wu turned this belief into a reality by joining the
resources of Shin Kong affiliates and the Wu family to plan and build Shin Kong
Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital, which officially opened on September 2, 1992.
Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital has 42 medical departments
and 918 beds. Patients can expect the best medical services in a friendly
"patient- centered" medical environment where care and quality come first
and the most advanced diagnostic equipment is used. For instance, the
hospital has 256-slice CT Scan for noninvasive coronary artery inspection. It
also has mPET/CT positron emission tomography scanners, 3.0T MRIs, and
helical tomography scanners that are designed both to prevent and treat
cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease and cancer. These scanners
enable early diagnosis and treatment of heart, brain and tumor lesions so
that patients can remain healthy and maintain their quality of life. In 2011,
Shin Kong Hospital inaugurated the Sheng Shian Building to house a highend dental center and dialysis center. The hospital also added automated
equipment at its Pathology Lab and adopted a "real-time collection and
examination" policy to provide faster examination reports and improve the
time efficiency of medical care. Other enhancements include the installation
of a facility-wide wireless information network, including iPads for wards,
emergency care and mobile information working carts so that medical staff
can diagnose, treat and ensure the safety of patients at all times and places.
In 2014, the hospital expanded space for ophthalmology outpatient services
and inaugurated a Medical Cosmetic Center integrating the dermatology and
cosmetic surgery departments. The hospital's physician lineup was expanded
and service space was extended to the B2 level. The hospital also introduced
Taiwan's first 3D stereoscopic minimally invasive da Vinci Surgical System
robotic arm with fluorescence imaging, providing a new choice for surgical
treatment. In the area of international medical care, the hospital formed new
international linkages through its support in the establishment of a nutritional
health education demonstration center in Palau.

Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital was founded on the principle of
"giving back to society" and is dedicated to helping to meet the nation's
medical needs. It promotes and provides community, school, workplace
and senior care stations as well as other health promotion activities and
seminars in addition to in-hospital diagnosis and treatment services. The
hospital participates in community disease control and prevention screening,
consulting, and other services so that those in need can have access to
health services. It also provides community meal delivery services for the
economically disadvantaged, the sick, and elderly people that live alone and
cannot support themselves. In June 2014, the hospital introduced "attentive
medical care and home service." It also officially launched Taipei's first mobile
shower to provide disabled seniors with home bathing and medical services.
Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital has won a string of honors in recent
years. These include medical center accreditation by the Ministry of Health and
Welfare, the Symbol of National Quality (SNQ), assessment of qualification to
provide severe emergency medical services, quality certification as a Class-A
cancer treatment hospital, ISO 15189 medical laboratory accreditation, ISO
27001 information security certification, the Taipei City Department of Labor's
Happy Enterprise Award, and Taipei City's Outstanding Healthy Workplace and
senior-friendly health institution certification.
In 2012, Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital celebrated its 20th
anniversary. Going forward, the hospital will continue to improve the quality
of its medical care, serve the public welfare, and create the best possible
work environment. Its focus continues to be on providing a safe medical
environment where patients can enjoy peace of mind. Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su

Shin Kong Life Insurance Scholarship
Foundation
Born in a poor family, the founder of Shin Kong Group, Mr. Ho-Su Wu, had
to overcome great hardships to gain an education. Even after becoming
a successful businessman, Mr. Wu remained committed to learning and
constant self-development. He also deeply appreciated the importance of a
sound education. In order to help more students achieve their educational
goals, Mr. Wu created the Shin Kong Life Insurance Scholarship Foundation
in 1973, marking the 10th anniversary of Shin Kong Life. The foundation
currently has an endowment of NT$55 million.
The foundation annually presents scholarship to high school and university
(including post-graduate school) students of high academic achievement
and upstanding character. It accepts applications at regular times each
year through an automated online system. The scholarship winners are
announced on the foundation website, and ceremonies are held to present
the scholarship awards. Over the past nearly 40 years, the foundation has
helped thousands of students to realize their educational dreams.

Shin Kong Life Foundation (SKLF) was established in 1983 to provide and
support philanthropic and public service programs in the spirit of giving
back to society and innovation, as embodied by Shin Kong group founder
Wu Ho-Su. In addition to traditional disaster relief, the foundation works
with non-profit organizations (NPOs) in three major strategic development
areas: oral history, women's health, and aboriginal education.
The foundation's oral history work includes the History Alive and Legacy Art
Works programs, which invite seniors to recount their life stories and values
through the media of performance and visual art. The women's health program
involves long-term support for breast cancer prevention and the promotion
of correct cancer prevention concepts through seminars and coupons for
free breast ultrasound health examinations provided by Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su
Memorial Hospital. In the area of aboriginal education, the foundation's main
involvement is through sponsorship of supplementary classes and aftercare
programs in the townships of Xinguang and Zhudong. In celebration of the
foundation's 30th anniversary, SKLF has expanded its "Town & Country Pen Pal
Program," inviting people to serve as volunteer pen pals and provide substantive
support for the development of disadvantaged children in remote townships.
In addition, Shin Kong Volunteer Club recruits company volunteers to meet the
human resource needs for the activities of social welfare organizations.
The foundation takes full advantage of the resources of the Shin Kong
Group and seeks strategic partners in the non-profit sector to develop
programs meeting the needs of society. Through systematic performance
evaluations, it aims to maximize the benefits of these programs to prevent
and resolve societal problems.

On September 21, 1974, when Madam Lin, mother of Shin Kong Group

Foundation for promoting charities.
Services provided by the foundation include elderly and community services
and services for disadvantaged groups. In recent years, the foundation
has regularly sponsored activities such as community classes, the "Life
is Beautiful" seminar series and community libraries. It has also joined
business, government and private organization resources to advocated for
depression screening, suicide prevention and care for seniors living alone,
care for children and adolescents (including a year-end gift program for
orphanages and supplementary classes for children from disadvantaged
families), and family caregiver outreach. Over the years, the foundation has
been active in public service activities that embody Shin Kong Group's spirit
of "giving back to society". In the years ahead, the foundation will continue

Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Rescue
Foundation
Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Rescue Foundation was established on October 11,
1990, in memory of Mr. Wu Ho-Su's ardent spirit of public service. Endowed
with funds saved from the funeral of Mr. Wu along with condolence money
given at the funeral, the foundation is committed to giving back to society
and serving the public. It provides medical and emergency relief funds for
the underprivileged and promotes first-aid skills, such as CPR, basic wound
treatment, and basic life-saving skills, at campuses and communities. It
also promotes and sponsors various philanthropic activities and disaster
relief programs, such as care for the handicapped, homeless and live-alone
seniors and disaster relief after Typhoon Morakot.
The foundation will continue to provide relief to help families weather
emergencies and to promote first-aid courses so that more people will have
the skills to provide life-saving help in emergency situations. The foundation
will also continue to support philanthropic activities and disaster relief
programs to help the disadvantaged and reduce disaster-related injuries.

Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Culture and Education Foundation was founded in
1998 to enhance quality of life, promote culture and social education, and
foster outstanding talent.
The foundation provides sponsorship to student associations and
other groups for the arrangement of art and cultural exhibitions and
performances, as well as healthy leisure and recreational activities with
educational value. Supported activities include community art tours and the
"Life is Beautiful" seminar series. SKLF has also brought together business,
government and private sector resources to arrange cultural, educational,
and sport charity public service activities, such as musical performance
tours to remote townships, youth theater festivals, and an international a
cappella festival. In recognition of its achievements, the foundation was
awarded the bronze medal in the Wen Hsin Award in 2006.
In future, the foundation will continue to support events that elevate the
quality of art exhibitions and performances and cultivate artistic talent
in Taiwan. It will also sponsor cultural activities, promote educational
development, and organize cultural and educational activities to bring the
arts deeply into daily life and improve the quality of life in Taiwan.

The Shin Kong Bank Education Foundation (SKBF) was established in 1998
as the Shin Kong Commercial Bank Education Foundation and gained its
present name on November 28, 2006. The foundation's mission is to study
domestic and foreign financial scholarship, develop community scholarship
and education, and provide grants for social education and public welfare.
In recent years, the foundation has focused on sponsoring and organizing
art and cultural activities and outreach activities for children in remote
townships to promote education and upgrade social education. Such
involvements include sponsorship of the Shin Kong National Children's
Drawing Contest, outreach activities for students at the remotely located
Liugui Elementary School, and sports activities.
Looking ahead, the foundation will continue to fulfill its mission by
promoting related public welfare and educational activities, actively
sponsoring or participating in social education and recreational activities,
and providing grants for social education and public welfare. It will also
partner with education, social enterprises and other charitable organizations
to jointly promote educational activities and raise the level of social
education.
