WELCOME TO PROTEKO AND
NORDIC SCHOOL OF DESIGN!
We offer textile knowledge from design to sale.
From our great premises at Textile Fashion Center in Borås, the foundation
PROTEKO is working to develop the Swedish textile industry. PROTEKO stands for
”Professional textile competence” and explains in an easy way what we do. Our
mission is to increase the profitability and competence of Swedish textile companies through cooperation, advice, and education.
Together, PROTEKO and Nordic School of Design holds courses within the textile and design area, where PROTEKO focuses on buying, quality and CSR and
Nordic School of Design focuses on design. This in order to provide the industry
with skilled professionals. Our education is well established amongst companies
in the industry that continuously receives students from PROTEKO/Nordic School
of Design during internships, which often leads to employment immediately after
graduation.
VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

(HVE) and our key function is to ensure that HVE programmes meet the labour

PROTEKO and Nordic School of Design offer vocational college programmes
which supplies textile industry with professional labor. Our courses are two year
Higher Vocational Education with a focus on textile, fashion, and clothing from
design to purchase. The course content is directly adapted to the industries needs,
with a practical focus where theory is interlinked with practical knowledge. The
combination of theoretical learning and practical opportunity together with the
applied knowledge within internships and the continuous business partnerships
within the education syllabus provides the students with major competitive advantages towards employment.
Nordic School of Designs’ unique way to combine training with design assignments in cooperation with the industry, allows students to gain all the tools they need
to be employable and competitive in a tough industry. Through PROTEKOs’ and
Nordic School of Designs’ large network within the industry the students are provided with unique opportunities to build a strong network of relations for the future.
Get to know a future employee!
An important part of the education is work placement internships (LIA) where the
students get to experience their future professional role first hand. By participating,
the companies contribute to the development of necessary skills in the Swedish
textile industry, while providing a unique opportunity to test a potential future
colleague. Our education have high standards and most students are employed
before, or shortly after graduation.
INDEPENDENT EDUCATION
PROTEKO and Nordic Scool of Design conducts education on several levels.
Besides our full time Higher Vocational Education program (HVE), we offer foundational courses on part time, and short courses in textile, design, and software, as
well as distance learning courses in a range of related topics.
