Precautions for Use
The safety precautions stated below are to be followed to use the product safely and correctly
and to safeguard both you and other persons and avoid property damage. The precautions are
classified into three categories, DANGER, WARNING and CAUTION, to indicate the degree of
hazard, damage and imminence. Strictly observe these important safety precautions in addition
to the safety requirements specified in ISO 4414*1) and JIS B 8370*2) and other standards.

Optional valves with 1000 and 3000mm lead wires
are available.
The optional valves of 2-wire type have a red wire +
and a black wire − . The 3-wire type valves (for
tandem solenoid) have red, white and black wires
like the standard valves.

terminal cover can be easily fitted.
4. Remove the terminal screw
from the terminal
body ❸, insert the terminal (in the case of a
Y-shaped terminal, loosen the screw, and fit the
terminal on the screw), and tighten the terminal
screw
to 49 N・cm±15%.
*Polarity
The DC solenoid has polarity.
The numbers“1”and“2”shown on the terminal
screw areas of the terminal body ❸ indicate the
plus and minus poles, respectively.
5. To assemble, fit the terminal cover ❷ to the
terminal body ❸, and tighten the cable gland ❹.
Set the gasket ❽ on the solenoid side in advance,
and tighten the cover mounting screw ❶ to 30 N・
cm±15% to secure the DIN socket.

Handling Instructions
1. Leakage current
When the solenoid valve is operated by a programmable
controller or is provided with a CR circuit for contact
protection, ensure that leakage current of output is less
than 5% of holding current. Otherwise, the solenoid
valve may not turn off even if power is turned off.
2. When the solenoid valve is switched, surge voltage is
generated. The surge voltage caused when the valve
turns off may damage the control device contact. In
such a case, it is recommended to use a valve provided
with a protective circuit. (The circuit protects the
solenoid also from external surge.)
Manual override
1. Push the manual override all the way in, and
operate it.
The single solenoid is kept in the same state as
the energized state while the manual override is
held down. When the override is released, the
solenoid will be restored.
The double solenoid is switched to the same
state as the energized state of S1 (S2) by
pressing the manual override on the S1 (S2) side.
The solenoid is kept in the state even if the
manual override is released. To restore it, operate
the manual override on the S2 (S1) side.
Use the valve constantly within the working pressure range.
CAUTION
When ports A and B are open to the atmosphere or
port P is closed, the pressure drops when the
solenoid valve operates, and it may malfunction.
Keep the pressure of port P within the working
pressure range.
Power supply
Use the valve constantly within the working voltage range.
CAUTION
Take care that the voltage is not dropped by the
influence of other electric appliances while the valve
is operating.
Assembly of sub-plate/manifold and valve
CAUTION
The port plug is only temporarily secured on
the manifold. Reposition it appropriately to the
purpose of use.
If it is used at the position at which it is
temporarily secured, retighten it without fail.
When assembling, carefully check for dust and
scratches on the solenoid valve, manifold and
gasket. (Particularly check carefully the
mounting seal surfaces.)
The valve will be delivered without the sub-plate mounted.
When assembling the sub-plate/manifold and valve, take
care not to scratch the mounting surfaces (seal surfaces),
and tighten the mounting screws to the specified torque.
Take utmost care not to mount the valve in a wrong
direction with respect to the sub-plate/manifold.

2. On the tandem solenoid, when the manual override
is pressed all the way in with a precision
screwdriver and turned to A clockwise based on
the 0 position, the solenoid on the SA side is set
to the same state as the energized state and
locked. On the SB side, turn the override
counterclockwise to B. To unlock, return the
override to 0. The manual override will return to
the original position with the aid of the spring, and
the solenoid will be unlocked. The manual override
may be damaged if it is turned excessively.

Suitable for driving cylinders with bores of up to 32 mm
As standard devices for protection from power surge, the valves for AC are
provided with varistors, and those for DC are provided with flywheel diodes.
The valves for AC power can be used at 100 to 120 V AC or 200 to 240 V
AC available.
The valves can be wired by various methods, e.g. Q socket, P socket, DIN
socket and lead wire methods, and the Q socket, P socket and DIN socket
type valves are provided with indicating lamps for easy confirmation as
standard devices.
One touch fittings for 4- and 6-mm dia. valves are standardized.
Compact tandem type double solenoid valves are available (sub-plate type,
Mono-manifold type/24 V DC).

SR342/SR542
Suitable for driving cylinders with bores of up to 50 mm
As standard devices for protection from power surge, the
valves for AC are provided with varistors, and those for DC
are provided with flywheel diodes.
The valves for AC power supply are applicable to 100 V AC
to 120 V AC or 200 V AC to 240 V AC.
The valves can be wired by various methods, e.g. Q socket, P
socket, DIN socket and lead wire methods, and the Q socket,
P socket and DIN socket type valves are provided with
indicating lamps for easy confirmation as standard devices.
Valves with one touch fittings for 4- and 6-mm dia. tubes are standardized.
Compact tandem valves of double solenoid type are available
(sub-plate type/Mono-manifold type/24 V DC).

Suitable for driving cylinders with bores from 63 to 100 mm
As standard devices for protection from power surge, the
valves for AC are provided with varistors, and those for
DC are provided with flywheel diodes.
The valves for AC power supply are applicable to 100 V
AC to 120 V AC or 200 V AC to 240 V AC.
The valves can be wired by various methods, e.g. Q
socket, P socket, DIN socket and lead wire methods, and
the Q socket, P socket and DIN socket type valves are
provided with lamps for easy confirmation as standard
devices.
