L.O.H. UPDATE
Summer hasn't officially arrived yet, but the warm days of riding has. With
the calendar full of events already, there should never be a riding day with
nothing to do !
The Ladies will have our monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 24th at
The Green Turtle in Bel Air at 7pm. We wanted to try something new
to hold the meeting outside of the chapter meeting. We encourage all the
Ladies to come out and enjoy in some time of socializing with other Ladies.
We've planned a few events for the next couple of months so be sure to
mark these on your calendar:
Friday, June 19th, we will depart the dealership @ 6:30pm for
a ride to Havre de Grace for a evening stroll on the Promenade
and light fare @ The Promenade Grille. A walk along the Susquehanna
at sunset, the water splashing against the rocks, boats coming in and
out......enjoy what the "Chesapeake" has to offer in the "City by the Bay".
Back by popular demand,
Friday, July 11th, we will depart the dealership @ 6:30pm for a
night of Putt-Putt and Ice Cream @ Churchville Golf and Artic
Circle. If unable to be at the dealership, meet on location whenever you
can join us!
The Ladies meeting for July will be announced during the month of June,
through the web site, and/or through e-mail.
We have recently learned of a ride out of The Harley-Davidson/Buell Store
of Baltimore that we think our Ladies would be interested in. Heels &
Wheels, Women Only Ride on Saturday, June 7th. Proceeds to
benefit Susan G. Koman for the Cure and Amazon Heart Ride for Breast
Cancer Survivors. Any of our Ladies that would like to participate meet to
depart the dealership @ 8:30am. Registration @ 9am the day of the ride.
Departing @ 11am from the store. For more info go to
www.hdstore.com.
The Maryland / Delaware State HOG Rally presents a new contest open to all
members of HOG chapters in Maryland and Delaware ONLY. “The Best of the First
and the Free” is a title that will be awarded to one Harley-Davidson motorcycle each
year at the state rally. To prepare, each chapter must pick one of their members’ bikes
to represent them at the rally. A chapter can hold an internal bike show or some other
way of picking their one bike. Chapters may wish to pick a runner-up or alternate
bike in case the winner cannot attend the rally. At the rally, we will have a special
section in the bike show for the best bikes from each chapter. People will vote on
which bike is best. That bike (and its owner’s chapter) receives the title of
“The Best of the First and the Free” for one year and a trophy. To qualify, bikes must
be original Harley-Davidson motorcycles and regardless of any customization, must
still retain the original frame and an H-D engine.
