Getting around during the course
MONDAY April 23rd
To get to the School of Education (at Stakkahlíð) on Monday morning, walk (15 minutes) or take the city
bus Strætó (5 minutes), #11 (direction Mjódd) from Rauðarárstígur bus stop right outside the Hotel, go 2
stops, get off at Háteigskirkja bus stop. School of Education main entrance is in front of the intersection of
Stakkahlíð and Flókagata. On Monday morning however, it may be easier to use the entrance at the newer
part of the building, around the side and off of Háteigsvegur.

Monday morning, April 23 we start the course at
9:00 in room H 207.
If you enter via the new entrance of the School of
Education, the classroom is right up the stairs and
on the left once you enter. If you enter via the main,
older entrance, you walk in to the right, pass the
cafeteria and down the long hallway towards the
new part of the building (follow signs towards the
library, then go upstairs to the second floor).

TUESDAY April 24th
On Tuesday morning, April 24 Wolff-Michael Roth starts his seminar at 9:00 at Askja, the natural sciences
building of the University of Iceland at Sturlugata 7, 101 Reykjavík. From the Hotel Reykjavík, you can
walk (30 minutes) or take the city bus (15 minutes).

 Leave the Hotel at 8:40 and walk 300 meters down Rauðarárstígur (north) to Hlemmur bus station.
 Take bus #15 (direction Meistaravellir) at 8:36.
 Go 4 stops and get off at Íslensk Erfðagreining.
 Walk 200 meters down Sturlugata to Askja natural science building (east entrance).

WEDNESDAY April 25th
On Wednesday, April 25 we start at 9:00 at the School of Education, rooms K207 and K208.

THURSDAY April 26th
On Thursday, April 25 we will have the course dinner at restaurant Café flóra placed in Laugardalur
valley. We will meet at 19:00 and the dinner starts at 19:30. To get to restaurant from your hotel at
Rauðarárstígur you can either walk (about 30 min) or take a city bus from the bus station at Hlemmur.
City bus directions—map below:
 Leave the Hotel at 18:40 and walk 320 meters down Rauðarárstígur to Hlemmur bus station.
 Take bus #15 (direction Reykjavegur) at 18:48.
 Go off on the 4th stop at Laugardalshöll
 Walk 160 meters down to Café Flóra (in the middle of Botanic garden). See map below:
