Stewardship Message
“Get up and eat, else the journey will be too long for
you!” (1 Kings 19:7) Jesus knew that the stewardship
journey would be difficult, so He gave us the nourishment
of the Eucharist. When we take time to join our sacrifices
with the sacrifice of the Mass, we find the strength to give
and joy in our giving.

ANNIVERSARY OF ST. ANTHONY OF PADUA PARISH
We invite you to come and join us have a fun-filled
evening as we celebrate our 90th Anniversary with a
Gala Dinner on Saturday, September 19th , at the
Scottish Cultural Centre, catered by The Dutchman
Caterers. Tickets: $50 per person will be on sale July
18th to August 30th. Gather your friends and/or family
and book a table for 8.
Would you like to have your individual or family photo
included in the Commemorative booklet for $25 per
photo? Forms will be available through volunteers
selling dinner tickets in the vestibule. Also if anyone
would like to advertise in this booklet or if you know of
any organization that would be interested, please ask
one of us for a solicitation letter.

Photographs for 90th Anniversary Booklet : A few
weeks ago there was an insert in the bulletin inviting
you to submit your photograph in our Anniversary
Booklet at a cost of $25. A photographer will be
available after all the Masses on the weekend of
August 8th/ 9th, in the Church Lower Hall. If you are
interested please proceed downstairs after Mass and
members of our team will be there to assist you. If you
prefer you can also submit your photo electronically to
our Email address:

your cheque to one of our members.
Catechism Classes are held here at St. Anthony’s for all
elementary students attending public school. Our
program assists parents in instructing your children in
the teaching of the Catholic Faith. It is mandatory for
all public school students to attend the catechism
program from (Grades 1 to 7) to enable them to
receive the Sacraments of First Communion and
Confirmation. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings at
6:15—7:15pm, in the school beginning September
15th. N.B. Registration forms are available at the back
of the Church. Cost: $65.00 (one child); $75.00 (two or
more).

Outside Parish Activities
Talk by international presenter Stephanie Gray: "Love
Unleashes Life: Abortion and the Art of Communicating
Truth." How do we articulate the truth of the pro-life
message to a culture that has been deeply impacted by
abortion? How do we reach hearts as well as minds? Come
and learn more on Wednesday, September, 2nd, at 7:00pm,
in the Church Lower Hall.
Lulay and Christopher West: “See you at Man Alive”
“We can’t do it alone.” That’s the theme for this year’s
evening men’s conference, so bring a friend to Man Alive
with Christopher West and BC Lions Quarterback Travis
Lulay. West will speak about authentic manhood, and Lulay
will be interviewed on living his faith in the world today.

St. Anthony’s Youth Group will be hosting an overnight
retreat on Friday, August, 14th to Saturday August, 16th, at
Camp Luther Chalet on Mount Seymour. There will be
outdoor activities as well as quiet reflections and everything

Pilgrimage to the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in Mission

Mass for the Unborn: Please join us as we remember our
little ones who have passed on too soon. Mass will be
celebrated for the unborn on Saturday, September 5th, at
9:00am, at the Evangelist Chapel at the Gardens of
Gethsemani. We will pray the Rosary to the Rachel's Garden

Called and Gifted Workshop: The Holy Father is calling you
to actively help others encounter the Risen Christ by
allowing Him to work through the spiritual gifts you bring to
your work, family life, and your friends. The introductory
Called & Gifted workshop will teach you about your place in
the Church’s mission to the world and about the spiritual
gifts you have been given in order to fulfill that mission. The
workshop will be Friday, October 2nd, from 7:00–9:00pm,
and Saturday, October 3rd, from 9:00am–4:00pm at
Rosemary Heights Retreat Centre, Surrey. Everyone is
invited to participate. Parish leaders are encouraged to
