Advanced Instructions
Adjusting Settings
The Cocoon Ski Goggles has an internal ‘Setting.txt’ file that allows advanced settings to be configured.
By default, the Cocoon Ski Goggles have an exposure setting: 6, record at light frequency: 50Hz, do not
display time within the image and record at 1080P. These settings are suitable for most applications in
Australia, however if you wish to adjust these settings, please use the following procedure.
1. Connect the Cocoon Ski Goggles to a computer or laptop and open the Settings.txt file in the
removable disk directory. The file will be in the format shown below:
EV - Exposure Value: Controls how
bright the camera will make the scene, 0
being the darkest and 12 the brightest.
LightFreq - Light Frequency: Controls
the light frequency of the camera.
(For playback on PAL TVs, choose 50Hz)
RTCDisplay - Real Time Clock Display:
Will choose whether or not the time is
overlayed on the video
VideoSwitch - Resolution: Will choose
between FullHD 1080p or HD 720p
2. Default values and available options are shown below the dashed line. To change a setting, first
change ‘UPDATE:N’ to ‘UPDATE:Y’. This indicates to the Cocoon Ski Goggles that the settings have
been updated.
3. Next, change the values of EV, LightFreq, RTCDisplay and VideoSwitch to your desired
configuration.
4. Once complete, save the file and remove the Cocoon Ski Goggles from the computer or laptop.
5. Turn the Cocoon Ski Goggles off. The next time the goggles are turned on settings will be
automatically programmed into the goggles.

Advanced Instructions
Time Setting
The Cocoon Ski Goggles are configured to Australian Eastern Standard Time. Some individuals may
need to update the time, either during daylight savings or due to residing in a different time zone. If you
wish to update the Cocoon Ski Goggles time, use the following procedure:
1. Connect the Cocoon Ski Goggles to a computer or laptop and create a new file named ‘settime.txt’
in the same directory as ‘Settings.txt’
2. Open the file and input the current time and date in the following format;
YYYY MM DD hh mm ss
The current hour (h) is in 24 hour time and each value is separated by a space. For example, if the
present Melbourne time is 6:14:31PM, 13th June 2015, we would format the ‘settime.txt’ file as ‘2015
06 13 18 14 31’.
3. Once complete, save the file and remove the Cocoon Ski Goggles from the computer or laptop.
4. Turn the Cocoon Ski Goggles off, then on immediately to update the new time.
Clean and Care
Ensure you follow the below cleaning and care guidelines for your Cocoon Ski Goggles:

coating is not scratched or damaged.
• Do not use paper products, ski gloves or other abrasive materials to clean the goggle.
• Allow the goggles to air dry before storing for extended periods.
• Do not leave the goggle in areas of concentrated heat and sunlight, such as on a car dashboard.

FAQs
Question
Solution
My Cocoon Ski Goggles won’t turn on.
Ensure there is enough battery life to power the
goggles. Use the USB to recharge the goggles.
After connecting to the computer or
laptop, I can’t find the removable drive in
My Computer.
Check that the USB cable has been connected
correctly. Try connecting the USB cable to a
different USB port.
I can’t record a video.
Check that there is sufficient storage capacity
remaining on the Micro SD card (Not included).
Also check that there is sufficient battery life
remaining in the camera. If battery is running low,
charge the battery prior to recording.
There is no sound or low volume in my
videos.
Verify that you computer or laptops sound is turned
on by attempting to play an alternative video file. If
this fails, inspect the goggles for any objects that
are obstructing the microphone.
My Cocoon Ski Goggles will not
recharge.
Check to see if the blue LED indicator is on to
indicate that the goggles are charging. If there is no
blue LED indicator, try connecting the USB cable to
a different USB port.
What if I accidentally delete the setting.
txt file?
Don’t worry, your Cocoon Ski Goggles will
automatically create a new setting.txt file with your
most recent settings.
My goggles appear to not be working?
Hold down the reset button for 1 second or until
the goggles turn off. The goggles are now reset to
the default factory settings.
After changing the settime.txt file, the
time is still incorrect.
At times you may need to add or subtract one
hour on your Cocoon Ski Goggles, in order to
accommodate for daylight savings time.

Repair and Refurbished Goods
or Parts Notice
Unfortunately, from time to time, faulty products are manufactured which need to be returned
to the Supplier for repair.
Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files
stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs
stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or files stored on a USB

We recommend you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair.
You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with
refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process.
Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they
meet ALDI’s stringent quality specifications.
If at any time you feel your repair is being handled unsatisfactorily, you may escalate your
complaint. Please telephone us on 1300 663 907 or write to us at:
