Chris Schreiber, Associate Broker, Kiemle & Hagood Co.
Chris Schreiber is an Associate Broker in Kiemle & Hagood Company’s Coeur d’Alene Office. He is a licensed REALTOR® in
Idaho and Washington. Chris joined the Brokerage Division of Kiemle & Hagood Company in 2009, and has worked in
commercial real estate since 1991, including time with CB Richard Ellis, Charles R. Wilson & Associates and Abergel &
Associates. Chris focuses on commercial and investment real estate in North Idaho, in which he represents buyers, sellers,
landlords and tenants.
Mr. Schreiber is a graduate of the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business with more than 2,500 hours of
real estate specific education through USC, the Appraisal Institute, the California Department of Real Estate, the Office of Real
Estate Appraisers, the Idaho Mediation Association, the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, Idaho Real
Estate Commission, the Commercial Brokers Association, the Idaho Association of REALTORS®, and the National Association
of REALTORS®. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an emphasis in Real Estate Finance.
In 2008, Chris obtained the coveted CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. Chris is a member of the
Commercial Brokers Association (CBA), the National Association of REALTOR® (NAR), a trustee of the Spokane-Kootenai
Real Estate Research Committee, a member of the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene Trader’s Clubs, Vice Chairman of the
Sandpoint Urban Renewal Agency and Vice President of the Bonner Community Housing Agency.

Grant Forsyth, Chief Economist Avista Corp.
Dr. Forsyth is the Chief Economist of Avista Corp. Before coming to Avista in 2012, he was Professor of Economics at
Eastern Washington University from 1999 to 2012. Before EWU, from 1996 to 1999, he worked in the Czech Republic
as an academic and private sector economist. He received his BA in Economics from Central Washington University
(1988), his MBA in Finance from the University of Oregon (1990), and his PhD in Economics from Washington State
University (1996). He also serves on Washington Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors; The Citizen Commission
for the Performance Measurement of Tax Preferences; and the Spokane Mayor’s Economic Advisory Roundtable.

Alivia Metts, Regional Economist Idaho Department of Labor
Alivia Metts works at the Department of Labor in Post Falls. She is the Department’s Regional Labor Economist for the
five most northern counties in Idaho.
She was previously employed by HDR Engineering, Inc.— a nationwide consulting firm‑ where she worked mostly out
of the Washington and Alaska offices. Her work there included economic and environmental planning, in regards to
researching and analyzing the social and economic impacts projects have on communities. She also served as
economic development coordinator for the Eight Mile Boulevard Association while working at Fox Sports in Detroit,
Michigan.
Alivia graduated with a degree in economics from the University of Michigan and also holds an associate’s degree in
business administration.

Paul Polzin, Ph.D., Director Emertus, University of Montana Bureau of Business &
Economy Research
Paul Polzin was diector of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the Universty of Montana for 20 years, retiring in
2008. He received his Ph.D. In Economics from Michigan State in 1968.
He has been a featured speaker at the Montana Economic Seminars for 40 years. Prof Polzin sprecializes in the ananlysis of
local economic areas.
Prof Polzinis the past president of the Western Regional Science Association and the Association of University Bureaues for
Economic Research (AUBER) and twice the chair of the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Conference (PNREC).

Bruce Jolicoeur, Senior Director, Valbridge Property Advisors
Bruce Jolicoeur is a Senior Managing Director and real estate analyst, appraiser and consultant with Valbridge
Property Advisors | Auble, Jolicoeur & Gentry in Spokane, Washington. He started his career with TJ Meenach
Company in 1979 and joined the Appraisal Department at James S. Black in 1982. In 1985, Dave Auble purchased the
appraisal department and formed Auble and Associates, which ultimately became Auble, Jolicoeur and Gentry after
merging with Columbia Valuation in 1999. Bruce has been President of Auble, Jolicoeur and Gentry since 2010.
Today, Auble, Jolicoeur & Gentry, Inc. has offices in Spokane, WA, Coeur d’Alene, ID and Kennewick, WA.
Bruce is certified as a “General Appraiser” in Washington, Idaho and Montana and holds the MAI designation of the
Appraisal Institute. He is active in the Appraisal Institute and has served on its Executive Committee, Board of
Directors, as Chair of the General Appraiser Council, and as president of the Inland NW Chapters of the Appraisal
Institute, the Society of Real Estate Appraisers and the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. He co-chaired the
Appraisal Institute’s 717 Project Team
Bruce graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, and has
been practicing real estate appraisal and consulting in the Inland Northwest since 1979.

Jennifer Smock graduated from Lewis Clark State College in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.

she transitioned from actively selling Real Estate into a Leadership role in the company. Her responsibilities at

Joe Garst was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and received a Bachelor Degree in Business from Gonzaga
University. After gaining experience in aerospace, automotive and medical sales, Joe began his Real Estate career in
2002. He was given the opportunity to manage a Real Estate office not long into his career. In 2008, Joe became the
Designated Broker/Owner of Windermere City Group, which is now located in the up and coming urban neighborhood of
Kendall Yards. In 2014, Joe was elected by his peers and had the privilege of serving as the President of the Spokane
Association of Realtors and is currently on the Board of the Washington Association of Realtors.

Mr. Newell is the founder and CEO of Black Hawk Funding. He has over twenty years of experience in managing both startup and development stage companies in the hard money and commercial loan origination and resale business.
In 2007, Mr. Newell founded Black Hawk Capital Managers, LLC, a private company that focuses on investments tied to
commercial real estate loans and properties. Prior to 2007, Mr. Newell was Director of Operations for Black Mountain
Capital who had a $50 million joint venture with Prudential Real Estate. Mr. Newell has served as the COO of Bridge Capital
USVI, where he managed Bridge’s $250 million loan portfolio. Mr. Newell also founded and served as the President of RTC
Financial Advisors, a company responsible for over $500 million in real estate loan acquisitions through the Resolution Trust
Corporation (RTC). In 1995 he co-founded and operated www.hardmoneyfunding.com , the private real-estate lending
database Black Hawk Funding acquired in 2012 that was responsible for generating millions in loans until 2006.
Mr. Newell started his career as a registered investment advisor with Shearson Lehman Brothers and EF Hutton. He
received his BA and MBA in Business Finance from the University of Idaho. He is a pilot and enjoys tennis, golf, and
