• 8 coordinating fat quarters
• 5/8 yard coordinating binding fabric
• 2 (11/4-yard) backings
• 2 battings 38" x 42"
• Thread
• Basic sewing tools and supplies
CO M P L E T I N G T H E
WA L L H A N G I N G S
1. Select and join three B strips along
length to make a B1 strip set; press.
Repeat to make five identical B1
strip sets.
2. Repeat step 1 with remaining
B strips to make five identical B2
strip sets.
3. Subcut the B1 and B2 strip sets
into 40 (21/2" x 61/2") segments each
as shown in Figure 1.

CUTTING
From panel:
• Trim the Give Thanks panel into 2 (181/2"
x 221/2") A rectangles, centering motifs.
From coordinating fat quarters:
• Select 2 fat quarters for corner units;
cut 2 (71/4" x 21") strips from each.
Subcut into 4 (71/4") squares each
fabric. Cut each square on both
diagonals to make 16 C1 and
16 C2 triangles.
• Cut 5 (21/2" x 21") B strips from each of
the remaining 6 fat quarters.
From binding fabric:
• Cut 7 (21/4" by fabric width) strips
for binding.

4. Select two each C1 and C2 triangles
and join as shown in Figure 2 to make
a corner unit; press seam toward
darker fabric. Repeat to make eight
corner units.

5. To make one wall hanging, select
and join four B1 and five B2 segments
to make the top strip as shown in
Figure 3; press. Repeat to make the
bottom strip.

6. Sew the strips made in step 5 to the
top and bottom of A referring to the
Assembly Diagram.
7. Select and join five B1 and six B2
segments to make a side strip referring
to the Assembly Diagram; press.
8. Sew a corner unit to each end of
each side strip; press.
9. Sew these strips to opposite sides of
A to complete the pieced top referring
to the Assembly Diagram; press.
10. Create a quilt sandwich referring
to Quilting Basics on page 94.
11. Quilt as desired.
12. Bind referring to Quilting Basics
on page 94 to finish.
13. Repeat steps 5–12 to complete
the second wall hanging, using five B1
and four B2 segments in the top and
bottom borders and six B1 and five B2
units in each side border strip. QW
