– LIVING PROOF THAT SPEED
DATING WORKS – TOGETHER AGAIN
WITH SONGS, JOKES AND A UKULELE
It’s all here. Unless it’s over there. They know they put it somewhere. Last year
they were ‘Rock of Ages’ this year - thanks to Barry’s failed pension scheme and
the repossession of Ronnie’s amplifier - they’re ‘ROCK OF AGES 2 UNPLUGGED!’ with not one but TWO buckets containing questions and
requests from the audience.
Who says you need a script? Speed Metal Garage Thrash meets George Formby
via Valerie Singleton.Watch them sing, hear them dance, feel them sweat.Take
them outside and beat them with a big stick.
If you’ve got an hour to spare - you really should get out more.

Pen Hadow
SOLO – THE NORTH POLE:
ALONE & UNSUPPORTED
When Pen Hadow became the first and only person ever to reach the North
Pole from Canada without re-supply, he finally fulfilled a deathbed vow made to
his father 10 years before. Taking on the most challenging environment on the
planet, it took Hadow a gruelling 64 days to make the 478-mile trek during which
o
he had to survive in temperatures of -45 C.The mission almost ended in disaster,
when an accident and loss of one ski forced him to complete the expedition
trudging in boots.
This visually illustrated presentation, SOLO, tells not only the story of one of
the greatest endurance challenges on earth, it also tells of the personal life
behind the polar explorer. Born in Scotland, Pen Hadow was looked after in his
early years by the former nanny to Scott of the Antarctic’s son, who exposed
him to a bizarre conditioning regime by sending him outside in his shorts and
bare feet in all weathers.
‘A marvellous account of a remarkable journey. Pen Hadow writes fascinatingly about
life - alone - at the top of the world’
– Fergus Flemming, author of Ninety Degrees North and Barrow’s Boys.

THE QUEEN MOTHER – A PERSONAL
VIEW WITH HUGO VICKERS
Who was the Queen Mother? Harold Nicolson called her ‘the most amazing
Queen since Cleopatra’ while Cecil Beaton described her as ‘a marshmallow
made on a welding machine’.
One of the most popular figures in the Twentieth Century, the Queen
Mother’s image is well known to us; the pastels, the pearls, the feathery hats,
the smile. But what was she really like inside – beneath the
image?
Hugo Vickers spent 17 years researching her life, having observed her for 40 years.
He saw her in public and in private. He talked to her close friends and staff and
travelled the world in search of previously unseen documents and letters.
In a performance sparkling with images of her life, music to capture key
moments and footage of the Queen Mother in action, Hugo Vickers presents
a portrait of one of the most enigmatic characters of recent times.
