First Reading: Acts 15:1-2, 22-29
Some men informed the Gentiles that they must be
circumcised if they wished to be saved, because of
the Old Laws. Disciples then went forth to tell the
Gentiles to honor only those rules which were strictly
necessary, such as abstaining from eating meat
sacrificed to idols and illicit sexual union.
Second Reading: Revelation 21:10-14, 22-23
John depicts Jerusalem coming out of heaven,
sparkling with the radiance of precious jewels. Angels
were stationed at each of its twelve gates, and each
gate bore the name of one tribe of Israel. The city had
no temple, because God was its temple. The glory
and light of God and the Lamb also replaced their
need for the sun.
Gospel: John 14:23-29
Jesus tells his disciples, "Anyone who loves me will
be true to my word." For those who do honor his
word, both Jesus and God will love them and stay
with them always. He also tells them that God will
send the Holy Spirit in his place to give them the
instructions they will need. Jesus then tells them that
peace is his farewell gift to them.

50th Annual Parish Art Show & Book Sale
Mother’s Day – May 12, 2013
The 50th Annual Annunciation Art Show and Book Sale
will be held in the Parish Center on Sunday, May 12th after the
5:30 p.m., 9:00, 10:30 and 12:30 Masses.
Information and entry forms are available on the bulletin boards and in the pamphlet
racks. Entries should be brought to the Parish Center on May 9th from 3:00 p.m. –
5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: Donations for the BOOK SALE should be brought to the PARISH
CENTER ON THURSDAY, MAY 9th at the times listed above.
(PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE BOOKS AT THE PARISH OFFICE.)

Practice for students accompanied by a parent – Thursday, May 16, 6:30pm to 7:30pm in Church
1st Holy Communion Mass - Saturday, May 18 at 10:30am. Children are to arrive no later than 10:10am
and meet in the parish center. All parishioners are invited to attend Mass with us.

Thanks so much to Anna Zakarija, who so graciously shared her 1 st Communion collection of memorabilia
with our students and their parents. This collection is vast and goes as far back as the 1800’s…very
impressive!

use a “team” model in all our education ministries so that the commitment is not every week and allows

News from ACS!
We completed a successful "Be an Ally" Week. Kids made posters, performed skits, and helped spread
the ideas of gospel values to each other and the community on being good friends and global citizens.
This week our 4th & 5th graders will be visiting the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception to
celebrate May, the month of Mary.
