SAN ANTONIO, TX
AUGUST 2012
5th Annual RRA School Supplies Drive
July 27 through August 13
It’s back-to-school time again! Unfortunately, many students will not have the essential supplies they will need this fall.
After the most basic needs are met, school supplies may not fit into the family budget. But you can help students in
Bexar County begin the school year with the tools they need.
The RRA Outreach Committee is collecting the following new, unused items, needed by students in all grade levels in
the Harlandale Independent School District:
#2 pencils
Colored pencils
Pink erasers
Ballpoint/soft-tip pens
Boxed crayons
Washable markers
Highlighters
Plastic pencil boxes
Rulers
Blunt scissors
Small calculators
Glue sticks/Elmer’s glue
Construction paper
Index cards
Backpacks
3-ring white binders (1 & 1½ inch)
Loose-leaf paper (wide rule)
Spiral notebooks (wide rule)
2-pocket folders w & w/o brads
Dividers (5 or 8 tabs)
From Friday, July 27 through Monday, August 13, you will find RRA collection bins placed
at more than 20 locations in buildings around SwRI. Watch for more information in flyers
and Globalpost!
If you don’t have time to shop for school supplies, monetary donations are welcome.
Volunteers are needed after work on August 13 to help sort and package the items collected.
Please contact Elizabeth Branch (x4770, [email protected]) for more information.
Plan Now for the Next RRA Blood Drive
Thursday, August 16: ICE CREAM FOR ALL!
“Give a pint and get a pint” at the August Blood Drive!
Building 189 Video Teleconference Center, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you make an appointment, you’ll be seen ahead of walk-in donors. Appointments
help avoid bottlenecks, which reduces the wait time for everyone. For an appointment,
please email [email protected]. If you find you can’t come during your scheduled halfhour, you’re still welcome to come anytime at your convenience
Bring a friend/family member/co-worker too!
Thank you for being a Blood Donor and saving lives!
