What is VRM?
Saffire PRO 14
Convenient though headphones may be, they’re simply not the same as listening on a pair

of monitor loudspeakers. And yet… listening on one pair of monitor speakers isn’t enough
either. To tell how your music will sound in the real world, you need to listen in different
environments, with different speakers. Until now, you had to burn a CD or transfer a file and
play it back on real systems in actual environments to A/B your mixes in different places. But
now, there’s a better way.
Virtual Reference Monitoring
The answer is Focusrite’s unique and well-established VRM™ (Virtual Reference Monitoring)
technology – a room and loudspeaker simulation system for headphone monitoring. While

Midnight
THE CLASSIC PLUG-IN SUITE By FOCUSRITE
Focusrite’s new Midnight plug-in suite takes two of the most iconic Focusrite modules of all
time – the ISA110 equaliser and ISA130 compressor; models their sound exactly with powerful
DSP technology; and gives them elegant, functional on-screen front panels that make them
simplicity itself to use.
The Midnight modules deliver incredible power and flexibility into your digital studio in VST,
AU and RTAS formats. Now you can take a massive step up and incorporate the pure, warm,
delicious sound and straightforward controllability of these classic analogue processors in
your own tracks - at a price you can actually afford.
Pro Tools 9
Now Focusrite Ready
In 2000, Digidesign chose Focusrite as their hardware partner to deliver what was to become the most
successful Pro Tools interface ever - the original Mbox.
Now, with the introduction of Pro Tools 9, Focusrite interfaces are once again the best choice for Pro Tools users.

All Focusrite audio interfaces are Pro Tools 9 compatible.

How are you using the liquid channel in the studio?
I’m using the liquid channel Mainly for vocals and currently testing out all the combinations

What are your main reasons for going with Focusrite Hardware?
They’re a solid company with a very strong reputation. I used the Saffire Pro 26 and the

quality results.

A pair of the hardware processors acts as the last stage in his chain, before the signal from the

choice, continues: “When Pete brings the template in, we replace the instruments to try to get
it sounding how he had it in his studio. We start with drums then bass and guitars, then live
strings. We tracked the strings and most of the drums through Focusrite ISA428s.”

It’s always nice to have something that you know gives good results. I was a
tape op when Focusrite came along, and whenever I got the chance to try Focusrite
equipment, it always sounded amazing. It’s something that I’ll always go for if
it’s in a room, because I trust it and I know it always comes through.
The Focusrite sound is always nice on anything you want a lot of high fidelity to. Drum overheads always sound great, and it’s the same with strings recordings.
It works really well on vocals; It helps me make the mix.
