Shirley (Lemire) Plumb Chichonowicz
Residing in Springfield, VT. Married 25 years to Paul; 18 years
to Brad Plumb until his death May 1980, 2 children 1 step-child,
2 grandchildren 1 step-grandchild; 1 pet Abigayl a wonderful soft
coated Wheaton Terrier. Retired officially in 2007 after working
many years with Springfield School System in the field of Special
Education. Spent most of my years at Park Street School –
Wonderful Memories! For many years actively involved with
Hospice working with children who were dealing with loss, either
through death of a family member or being removed from the
home. Recently resigned from Board of Directors of Lincoln
Street Inc., an agency that supports and serves individuals with
mental issues. Husband and I have spent a great deal of time
traveling the US and have only three states left to say I have
been to them all – needless to say, Alaska, Washington &
Oregon are next on the list. We have also done a great deal of
cruising visiting many islands in the Eastern & Western
Caribbean. I love scrap booking, gardening, working on my doll
house (which is a masterpiece in progress) and time spent with
my grandchildren. They are absolutely the lights of my life!!!
Best Memories: My memories of high school are some of the
best of my life. School dances as well as dances at the
Community Club, PJ parties at Ricky Means’ house, getting together after school to
watch American Bandstand, our “grown up” parties at the Hartness House (thanks
to Cherry Smith and her dad), homeroom with Mr. Seymour, those fantastic
spaghetti dinners at Patsy Burns’ house Brad and I tobogganing at the Country
Club with Ed Farmer and Linda Wood, the basketball and football games, hula
hoops, those ridiculous petticoats and bobby socks and on and on and on!!!
Message to Class: I feel we were so fortunate to have grown up in the 50’s. Life
was so much simpler then. There was an innocence to us that is not often found in
the youth of today. We weren’t very worldly but we knew how to have good clean fun!! When my children
were in their teens they used to think that it must have been great to live when life was just like in “Happy
Days”!! Don’t you think they were so right?

bringing with them to university. Names fade,
