children, youth and adults (yes, we are
having adult VBS this year!) will learn that Jesus, our
Good Shepherd gathers us together! Together, we will
look into the Bible, God’s Holy Word, and explore five
farm-tastic Bible accounts that teach us how God is with
us, provides for all our needs and protects us now and
forever! He cares, provides, leads and forgives us! You
won’t want to miss this!!!
You can sign up to be a VBS worker on one of the
clipboards in the fellowship hall! You can also begin
inviting and encouraging the children and youth in your
family and community to get ready for this exciting
adventure in God’s Word. And, remember . . . there is
going to be an adult class. VBS is for EVERYONE and
you are going to hear and see lots more about it in the
coming weeks!!!
Note: There will be a very important Vacation Bible
School planning meeting on Tuesday evening, June 7,
7:00 PM. All who plan to work in this year’s VBS are

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather as we get
into the summer months. It is such a blessing to live in
a place where we can enjoy the change of each season. It is
truly evidence of God's greatness as we admire His
creation.
It is a blessing and privilege to lead the choir each
week as we give God glory through music. The choir puts
their heart into rehearsal each week as we prepare music
for worship services. We hope each member of the
congregation is touched in some way through the
message in songs. While we enjoy singing, we are
always mindful of why we sing.
An article by TJ Miller, Music and Worship, posted
August 4, 2015 by Jeremy Armstrong, explains so well of
why we sing in worship. The writer says that, "Music is
fun. It expresses our heart. It is a tool to explore our relationship
with God. Singing connects us to one another. We sing to serve
the Lord. Songs reinforce biblical values by forming our minds to
focus on Jesus." Miller continues to say that, "Singing is a part of
our sacrifice of praise to offer the Lord. Singing is a form of prayer
to declare who God is and what He is doing in our lives. Singing
is tied to the promises of God. He promises to draw near to us as
we draw near to Him. Singing affects our emotions, fanning the
flames of our hearts to burn brightly for the Lord.”
Miller also reminds us that, "Music accom panied
many major events in the Bible. It led God's people forward in
battle. Jesus' birth was announced through song, as will be His
triumphant return."
All of the above are reasons to sing, however the
main reason we sing is to give "God our praise because he
deserves it!"
Everyone is welcome to join us as we sing to give
God Praise. You do not need to know music, just a willing
heart.
Singing is something the Bible commands us to do.
Psalm 149:1.. "Praise ye the Lord ! Sing unto the Lord a new
song, and His praise in the congregation of saints."
We welcome our new Pastor J.D. and Mrs. Judy to
Scotts Creek Church. We are so blessed to have them lead
our church in service for reaching our community for the
Lord. We look forward to working with Pastor J.D. and
Mrs. Judy as we move forward in making Scotts Creek a
light in the community.
Thanks to everyone for your encouragement and
prayers in supporting the music ministry at Scotts Creek
Church. We want to give God the glory and praise!
