AQUATICS
Rebecca Marvil
AQUATICS PROGRAMS
Congratulations to National Champion
Rebecca Marvil, a member of the
Houstonian SwimFit program, who
competed at the 2005 USA Masters
Indoor Track and Field Championships
in Boise, Idaho recently. Rebecca ran
the 3,000 Meters in the Women’s 45-49
age group. Her time of 11:44 won the
race in her age group and gave her the
gold medal for this challenging event.
“Swimming with the SwimFit group
in an organized workout environment
is important for both cross training and
cardio conditioning as well as helping
to develop upper body strength
sometimes overlooked when you
only run,” says Rebecca.

Power Lifting Champs
Congratulations
to Houstonian
Members who
competed at the
APF Texas State
Power Lifting
Championships
recently. The
Houstonian Club
team has become quite the state powerhouse in power lifting,
capturing 2 out of 3 of the Best Lifts for Open Men. Drawing more
than 200 lifters from across the state, the meet included many other
gyms with more lifters, but no gym was as successful as The
Houstonian Club.
Two notable mentions: Member Mike De Laval weighed in at 266
and benched 683.25. This was a State All Federations Open Class
Record (the most ever benched at 275 at any age in State history),
an American APF Open and Masters Record, and an unofficial
WBC World Masters Record. He also won Best Bench all Men, in
the 275 lb. Class in both Open and Masters Divisions.
Houstonian Fitness Specialist Tim Lamando weighed in at 145
and Dead Lifted 540. This was an APF Open Dead Lift Record
for the 148 lb. Class. Tim won Best Dead Lift all Men and the

Microdermabrasion
This 50-minute service offered at Trellis includes a
facial and involves a gentle technique performed with
a jet of fine salt crystals aimed at reducing fine lines
and wrinkles. The crystals are ejected across the skin
to remove dead and damaged skin cells and to
stimulate collagen beneath the surface of the skin.
The technique is designed to improve skin tone,
texture and evenness of natural color.
For best results, a series of treatments (in 2-4 week
intervals) is recommended.
