Miami’s original neighborhood was founded in 1873 by an eclectic mix of pioneers,
artists, intellectuals and adventurers and the tropical oasis of Coconut Grove thrives
to this day as Miami’s escape from the stress of city life. In the middle of Miami,
yet completely separate, Coconut Grove offers a warm, laid-back atmosphere of
boutiques, shady lanes, sidewalk cafes and quaint watering holes with a distinctly
bohemian flair where one can drop in and chill out every day of the week, any time
of the year. Inside you will find great options for what to see and do, as well as a
detailed map and expert advice from local “Grovites”. Get your Grove on!

Edite Mode
After years of working in high-end retail stores, such
as Louis Vuitton and Fendi, owners Maxime and
Liudmila Distenfeld chose Coconut Grove as the
scene of their first retail store this past July. The Parisnatives feel at home here with the bustling streets,
local vibe, ever-changing Miami fashion, and energy
of the café lifestyle. All that lured in Maxime and
Liudmila is all that makes Coconut Grove a unique
and constantly unfolding neighborhood in Miami.
Schwartz on the Season
HARRY'S
After another long, hot summer, everything can feel
fresh. Even the Miami air! I want to see and eat the new
season on my plate, like right away. A few years ago
at Harry’s in Miami’s Design District, we started doing
daily entrées that run on rotation – an item for each day
of the week, then hit repeat. They’re a great expression
of what we do at the restaurant, and what our wood
oven can do, too. It’s not just for pizza! Autumn is
about richer flavors, and living in Miami, balance on
my plate is even more important. I still want to eat light but
taste the autumn. In the market, I look for abundance first
and now that means root vegetables and squashes. I
like butternut squash for its beautiful orange color,
full of stuff that’s good for you and so pretty and
sweet when it’s caramelized around the edges.
Tossed with a grain salad and seared fresh local
fish “like Friday’s special, it doesn’t get much
better, or more fall, at home than this.
